Top of lid and sides of basket are entirely covered with multicoloured quillwork--a geometric design on the lid and a zigzagging pattern around the sides. Sides of the lid are made of thin, dark brown strips of willow interwoven with flattened, white quills to create a checkered geometric pattern. The imagery on the basket is of four green birds flying in the same direction around the middle, with a black and red stripe near the base. The lid has a faded black peak, with one black swirl and one red swirl below; the bottom edge of the lid has a green and red stripe around it. The colours inside are very bright, showing a dark blue-green and dark red-pink on the lid.
