The Harpist3010/21 a-d

Male figure playing a harp. Male figure (part a) wearing knee-length black robes with a white tie at the waist and a necklace made of white and red seeds. Both arms and legs are moveable. The large harp (part b) has two feet and is strung with nylon. The figure has large hands with long fingers, and an open mouth in which a dark brown wooden pipe (part c) fits. The figure stands on a wooden platform (part d), which has been painted white on top, and has four leather loops for footholds.

Devil Costume3289/5 b-c

Luzbel devil costume; large black velvet sequinned tunic (part b), with matching pants (part c). Made of black velvet with white fringe all along bottom of tunic, cuffs, and pant legs. Tunic has shiny red wing-like extensions with solid red sequin stickers underneath. Separate star or comet(?) designs on each arm. Back of tunic has heavily sequinned Mayan design in green, silver and red; large red devil face on front. Many plastic discs and flowers sewn on. Two silver six-point stars with a short string of silver bead garland are attached on the left side. Black corduroy pants have drawstring waist, and sequinned designs on pant legs and below devil face. (Part a is the matching cape.)

Hide beaded jacket. Jacket is long sleeved with a narrow collar, zipper front closure, and falls to waist. Thick leather fringe hangs from arms, waist, shoulders, chest and back. Front hip pockets, wrists, and front and back of shoulders are decorated with beaded flowers in orange and blue with green leaves and white vines. Interior of jacket is lined with dark blue synthetic fibre, and pockets are lined with orange.

Moccasins3262/3 a-b

Pair of beaded, over-ankle moccasins. Each has a high top, reaching mid-calf, with a leather thong tipped with fur pompoms threaded through the mouth for tightening. A wide panel of dark brown fur circles the boot just above the ankle. Calf and top of toe are decorated with glass and plastic beads in blue and red flower patterns, with white vines and green leaves. Toe is edged in a line of pink and black beads. Ankle can be tightened with a strip of hide. Interior leg of boots is lined with dark purple fabric.

Pair of beaded hide gloves, or gauntlets, reaching to mid fore-arm. Cuff and wrist are encircled by strips of fur, and a leather fringe decorates both sides of the arm. Top of gloves are decorated with beaded flowers in red, orange and blue with white vines and green leaves. Interior of gloves are lined with textured green fibre.

Stringed instrument (part a) and bow (part b). Instrument body is made from a gourd; the neck and fret are made of wood and plastic inserts. The gourd has two f-holes above the bridge. There are four tuning pegs below the scroll. The wooden bow has a short tip at one end, and a handle at the other. The bow appears to be strung with hide?

Pair of moccasins. Moose leather shoe has a high ankle that can be folded over, and long ties. Cuff is scalloped along edges. Toe is pointed, with toe panel covered in black felt and edged in alternating stripes of light pink and blue created by layering zigzag ribbons. Interior is unlined.

Under Dress3221/2

Under dress. Garment made of purple fabric, ankle length, with long wide sleeves, tight 4-button cuffs, and a button closure neck with a high scalloped collar. Pleated seams chest and knee level; sleeves are pleated at shoulder and wrist. Dress flares widely out from chest. White cotton lines the bodice, but the rest is unlined.

Umbrella3188/8

Umbrella made of dark purple velvet. The velvet is the over-layer of the umbrella, hand-embroidered heavily in gold thread floral patterns. A yellow fringe hangs from base and top. The under-layer is unbleached and undyed cotton. When the umbrella is open the metal spine structure creates a flower pattern. The handle is a heavily lacquered wood.
