Necklace1277/1

Necklace of twined cord with teeth strung onto it for most of length. The necklace is formed by a number of strands of cord, one with teeth strung onto it, with another piece of cord coiled around them to form a thick tube. Tassels at each end are three quarters as long as the coiled part of the necklace.

A large brown wood mask with lots of extremely long hair on string flowing down. The round red eyes bulge out with slits carved out underneath. The big wide nose has its nostrils cut out. The big open red mouth has long white teeth with four fangs curved outward to the sides at either ends. There is an elaborate crown headdress with three protrusions curved outward. The large ears are attached to the sides with string and are decorated with red curved lines and the lobes are pierced with gold conical earrings. The tongue is a long piece which falls out down from the mask and is made of red skin decorated with glass mirrors and gold ornaments. Two long orange fabric strips hang down either sides.

The big open black mouth has red gums and long white teeth with two fangs curved outward to the sides at either ends. There is an elaborate crown headdress with five protrusions curved outward. The large ears are attached to the sides with string and are decorated with red curved lines and the lobes are pierced with black earrings decorated with gold. The tongue is a long piece which falls out down from the mask and is made of red skin decorated with glass mirrors and gold ornaments.

Yellow animal mask with open mouth and tongue sticking out. Ears are attached to head with nails and adhesive and have fur inside them; eyes are holes lined in red paint and hair held on by wax; hair on forehead held on by adhesive tape; mouth has real teeth inserted into holes in the wood; nostrils are holes lined in red and black. Small holes at sides and top.

Necklace1590/101

A necklace of 117 beads, 6 teeth and 7 silver beavers, arranged with a large beaver at centre and 4 beads separating alternating teeth and beavers. Remaining beads all in colour sequence of three of the light-coloured beads alternating with a red bead. Large beaver has cross-hatched tail, engraved fur on body and two holes as nostrils. Three cartouches on body. Remaining beavers each have nose rings and a cartouche on back. Hole drilled at base of each tooth through which they are strung.

The figure is a sculpture of a human torso from the shoulders up, is white-yellow in colour, has a well defined face with deep set eyes, a small sloped nose and has a closed mouth that is slightly frowning. Small C-shaped ears are carved on either side of the face, level to the eyes and the figure depicts chin-length hair that is represented by hatching marks on the head. The overall appearance of the figure is female. On the underside of the figure is a small brown hollow opening at the centre.

Carved female figure, sitting and holding a fish. Her shirt is engraved with patterned strips of triangular designs around the cuffs, and extending across her shoulders and down her back. She has long hair drawn back into a round bun. The bottom of the figure has a hollow, cone-shaped opening in which the inscription is carved.
