The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

This necklace is made from 36 pieces of bone, teeth and ivory that are presently strung on a cord. It is unknown whether they originally belonged together and were on this cord or they have been joined at a later time. Ten of the pieces are elaborately carved into complex figures. Eight of the short teeth have a dot design on them. Other teeth appear to have been left natural and unmodified except for piercing a hole for a cord on one end.

Bone blanket pin in the shape of an animal head with an open mouth. Pin is light brown with darker brown coloring inside of carved lines. Carved lines on the bottom jaw define a tongue inside the mouth. Three carved concentric ovals define the shape of an eye on both sides of the head. Protruding from the top of the head are two 0.3 cm high ear-like knobs. A 0.9 cm in diameter hole runs through the head diagonally from the back of the head to the bottom of the lower jaw, this hole appears to be the hollow of the bone that the pin was carved from. Shaft of pin is a missing element and was broken off 0.41 cm from the back of the head. T.Felt, 4/14/2009
