Mask904/2

A light brown wood mask with circular eyes bulging out and holes cut out in between them and the long rectangular nose with holes for the nostrils. The cheeks are bulbous, and there are groups of hair for the moustache. There are teeth on the upper mouth and longer teeth on the lower jaw attached with sinew. A string is tied around at the back through two holes at the sides.

Long, brown wood shaft. The head is bound onto the head and consists of a bone point. The dark black-brown wood head underneath the bone point is carved with eight barbs alternating at either side. Shaft has a knob at the end. A woven fibre sleeve is at the base of the head on the shaft.

Antelope headdress. Elongated face with two horns that are covered with line carvings. Carved out of one piece of wood. The large curved neck has bars across it and incised cuts in the mane. Four legs are attached to an oval-shaped base.

The knife (part a) is a long metal blade with a wood handle which has two carved spiral designs. The sheath (part b) is made of wood with the long part having been wrapped around with metal which leaves the middle of one side open to reveal a shell covering. The sheath is carved with a cross-guard-like piece.
