A wide oval bark canoe with rounded ends, a wood bar across the middle and another wood bar nearer to one end. The rims and sides are stitched together with bark. The inside is smooth, and the outside has a rough bark texture.

Axe841/24 a-b

Long tapered axe (part b) and handle (part a) with large wooden cross-section. Cross-section is wide and short at one end and then tapers to a flared out rounded edge at the other. The wider end of the piece is covered with woven plant fibre and is bound with strips of plant fibre at the shorter end. The axe is a black coloured blade that flares out to a rounded edge. The narrow end is covered in green coloured plastic.

Rectangular coiled cedar root basket (a) with lid (b). Basket has trapezoid shaped profile when viewed from the ends. Constructed with parallel wood slats, overcast rim and handles. Handles are formed by creating a loop in the rim at each of the ends. Red cherry bark beading on handles and rim. Chevron shaped designs decorate the surface of the basket in canary grass bordered with black or red cherry bark.

Basket completely covered in imbrication: black and red zigzag design on white canary grass background. Beading is present on both the edge of the lid and the base of the basket. Small red and black design elements decorate the lid.
