Mask1373/35

Humanoid mask with protruding brow, short nose, large rectangular eye holes, a circular white protrusion on either side of the face and a rectangular mouth with jagged white teeth. Face is covered in long, overlapped sections of copper. Three long, braided, sections of raffia dangle from the chin, each having a large brown wicker-like ball strung on it--the same brown balls cover the top of the mask.

A rectangular wood box with a hole in the middle and having a triangular design on the edges. Near to one end, there is a wood row, a cylindrical metal row, and a flat metal row. Curved metal strips of various sizes go over the outer rows and under the middle row.

Pole of T’st’entsit. Carved in high relief out of cedar wood. Crest figures from top to bottom: mythical woman; Kulus (related to Thunderbird); sisiyutl (double-headed serpent), its horns now missing; human form of sisiyutl, holding a copper; Gwa’wina (raven). The large protruding beak of the raven has been attached. The entire surface is painted in black, white, green and red.

Large dark-brown oval-shaped mask with crescent-shaped cut-out eyes and mouth, long raised nose ridge with two cut-out nostrils, small round protruding ears, and slightly defined eyebrow ridges. Starting at the ears to the crown of the head, there are small holes around the perimeter of the mask with plant fibre woven in and out of them.

Oval-shaped mask with brown-coloured rim and hair. Hair protrudes upwards at an angle and is carved with grooves to simulate hair texture. Face is white, has arched eyebrows, closed eyes with thin slits, a small triangular nose, triangular ears, and protruding lips; chin comes to a tapered point.
