PointSf643 a-b

A triangular, pressure flaked point with rounded end (part a), detached from its wooden handle (part b). The blade is a brown, fine grained, volcanic stone. Many turns of cotton cord is wrapped around the base of the blade, obscuring whether or not it is notched, and wraps the fragments of the wooden handle which once straddled the blade. Handle has a bi-conical drill hole near the rounded end. Impressions of cord along the entire length of the handle.

Sinew bowstring lashed and knotted around the tapered ends of a curved wood bow. The shaft of the bow is bound with sinews. The grip is set slightly below the centre of the staff.

Large, carved, dark brown-black woodespoon. Oval bowl is 18 cm. long while the handle is 31.8 cm. long. Handle is flat as it extends up from the bowl interior while the other side is triangulated in shape. Top of the handle is thicker at the end and has a hole. Back of the handle has eyes, a nose and a mouth, suggesting a human head.
