Mat NeedleA4367

Mat needle with long narrow shaft, triangular cross section, and one pointed end. The pointed end widens briefly before narrowing to a point, creating a diamond shape. Large eye in opposite end is broken and edge of needle is also damaged at this end. Wood is a yellow brown colour.

A hollow, bottle-shaped, brown wood whistle that is circular in cross section with a neck tapering to a flat, beak-like mouthpiece. Bound with brown twine around near the wider end. Carved with a raven design. Has oval in oval eyes surrounded by a tapering oval and an ovoid. In between the eyes, there is a u form that has an oval within. The beak has a large split u with a smaller one at the pointed tip. Each wing has an ovoid at the top with two feathers below. Feathers are consisting of a pair of split u's with a larger one below and an u form that has an oval within at the tip. Inner wings curve around to a pointed corner while the outer wings are continuously connected underneath the beak around to each other.

Two complementary parts in form of a raven. Reclining figure on raven's back connected to a frog by protruding tongue. Small bird's face is on back of tail. Belly emphasized by a bird's face with recurved beak. Colours are red, green and black. Raven's head connected to neck by small nails.

Obsidian set in wood, then attached to thin wood shaft. Geometric design outlined with string and accented with white seeds. Obsidian blade a curved triangle in cross section and comes to a point. From the base of the point, the design is as follows: white diamond shapes surrounded by red; a plain brown section with a horizontal red band around the middle; and three sets of four seeds along sets of two diamond shapes surrounded by black.

Chipped blade set in wood with pitch and fibre lashings. The shaft is made of cane. Geometric decorations outlined with string and accented with white seeds. Obsidian blade is triangular in cross section and is flat at the end. From the base of the point, the design is as follows: a red x-formation surrounded by white at either side and black at either end; and five sets of four seeds around red, white, and black diamond shapes.
