Sitting figure representing a person selling at a market. Figure is sitting on a cylindrical object tapering upward. The knees are bent so that the legs are angled frontward and outward with the basket of goods in between the feet. The elbows are bent so that the arms are resting just above the knees. On a wood base.

Raven RattleA6796

Unpainted raven rattle with protruding tapered bird beak at one end and long, narrow and spilt tubular handle at the other. There are two complementary parts that join together to form the rattle (held by nails; no wrapped cord). There is a reclining figure on the raven's back that is connected to a frog by a protruding tongue. The back of the tail has a small bird face. The round belly is undecorated other than a thin ridge ending in a carved nose.

Raven RattleA6795

Unpainted wooden raven rattle constructed from two complementary parts joined at the handle. Reclining figure on raven's back connected to frog by protruding tongue. Back of tail has a small bird face. The rounded belly has a larger bird face with a recurved beak. The handle is bound in two places with thin, brown bark(?).

Cylindrical ring carved from wood that sits on one flattened side, and the edges are serrated with three segments of the edge burnt to a dark brown finish. Around the centre of the ring are two raised, ridged bands with a herringbone pattern that are accented with two bands of dark brown burnt wood.

A brown wood mask with the oval eyes cut out and a wide concavely carved area below the upraised eyebrows. Black and blue paint around the eyes. The large nose extends outward. The cheeks are rounded. Pursed lips in an oval formation leave the mouth cut out and open. Strips of hide have been applied at the temples and over the mouth with metal nails. Wiring around the back.

Humanistic wooden mask. The mask is unpainted with a protruding nose and minimal features. A shallow opening is carved for the mouth and thin lips drawn in black. The oval eyes have black round centres. The eyebrows are also drawn in black. There is a black cross on one cheek and a more faded brown cross on the forehead. The top and base are flat.

A snuff bottle (part a) that has a flattened circular shape with masses of dot-like patterns in ivory on a transparent beige agate background. There is a stopper (part b) made of orange coral encased in brass. The wood stand (part c) has the shape of an oval within slight arches that have square ends, and has four legs.
