Large wooden spoon with carved and metal decorations. Spoon is painted dark blue and has a deep bowl; alternating dots and vertical lines carved along edges of bowl. The neck has incised geometric and linear motifs across the front and back; handle consists of two sitting birds, bellies facing one another. They have short tails, wings carved in relief and long necks; heads are tilted up. Additional silver pin decorations across spoon. On the handle and neck, the pins highlight the existing designs. On the base of bowl, the pins form an arrow motif inside of an oval.
Wooden humanoid mask with a narrow face that tapers at the chin. Mask has a pronounced brow with alternating triangles carved in relief along its length; nose ridge protrudes from underside of brow. Curved metal sheeting above triangular eye holes, imitating eyelids; thin triangle-shaped cheeks extend from either side of the mask. Large nose has two small holes drilled into the base, overtop a protruding upper lip. Teeth are carved in relief along top and bottom edges of mouth opening; raised triangular tongue carved on bottom of mouth. Jaw is attached to mask with plant fibre ties. Sides and top of mask are flat, chin is rounded and mask interior is hollow. Holes drilled all around back edge.
Wooden face mask with a slanted prominent brow. The face is oval-shaped and has protruding circular eyes, a wide nose, and four bar-like teeth in a huge grimacing mouth. The nostrils are carved in low relief. There is an oval-shaped opening above the nose bridge. All sides are rounded; interior is hollow. Mask has holes drilled along the edges.
Small wooden bowl with a raised foot. Opening has a wide lip that flares outward; inner walls are steep. Indigo pigment(?) stains across interior; rest of bowl is undecorated. Base of foot is concave.
Spear with a leaf-shaped head and cylindrical wooden shaft. The spearhead is flat. Socket extends from head and wraps around top of shaft; small hole drilled into head where it transitions into socket. Socket completely covers shaft on front and has a triangular opening at back; secured with two nails. The nail heads are visible on the front, shank and tip are bent against shaft on back. Shaft is stained(?); rest is undecorated.
Humanoid wooden mask with a narrow face that tapers at the chin. Mask has a pronounced brow and slits for eyes; white-grey pigment painted around eyes. Long thin nose above small protruding lips; linear motifs carved in relief across lower lip. Similar designs, with additional diamonds and triangles, carved in a vertical line from the forehead to the bridge of the nose. Sides of mask are flat, top and chin are rounded; interior is hollow. Mask has holes for eyes; holes drilled along sides and top of mask.
Wooden animal face mask with a narrow face and beak-like mouth. Mask has a pronounced brow over circular eyes; eyes are inlaid with what appears to be white glass? Nose has a thin bridge before smoothly flaring out at the base; mouth is open and angled downward. All sides of mask are rounded; interior is hollow. Mask has holes for the eyes.
Two-piece mask (part a) and tunic (part b) costume. Mask consists of a rounded basketry headpiece, crowned with ten horns, and a rectangular panel hanging from the front. Headpiece is covered in thick braids, made of hair, which wrap around the bases of the horns. The braids then extend downward, draping over the chest and back of the wearer. Braids have red cloth tied at intervals along their length with cowrie shells hanging from their bottoms. The mask panel is covered entirely in cowrie shells with stuffed red fabric in the centre, imitating eyes and a nose. Additional cowrie shells and red fabric decorate the horns. The tunic is sleeveless and indigo-dyed, with off-white designs throughout. Designs are inside rectangular blocks across surface. Designs include: interlocking abstract “X” shapes, dots, concentric diamonds, and propeller-like shapes. Fringe decorates bottom edges and slits are cut underneath arm openings. Black cloth lining around neck opening and slits.
Cloth doll with embroidered facial features. She is wearing a belted black dress and pants. Doll has a beaded headdress and multi-strand necklace; necklace is done in yellow and orange. The headdress consists of a ring and long woven train covered in horizontal bands made up of beads, buttons and bells; twisted fringe along bottom edge. Bells are silver, buttons are white and beads are done in orange, white, yellow, dark blue, pink, light green, and silver. Band designs consist of alternating vertical stripes, chevrons and plain horizontal stripes. Collar, cuffs and bottom edge of dress are decorated with yarn geometric designs; done in orange, yellow, light blue, pink, and white. Additional wavy silver ribbon trims bottom edge of dress. Opening of pants are bordered with wide green ribbons with heart-like designs throughout; ribbon trimmed in orange yarn, designs done in silver. Doll is attached to a wooden base.
Stone carving of a goose on a separate antler base (part b). Goose is made of polished black stone in a resting position with its head turned back. Fours lines are carved on the back to show wings; for eyes there are small circular lines with a tiny hole indented in the centre. The goose has a hole in the bottom at centre for the stand's peg. The antler stand is a Y-shaped piece with the ends rounded off, and a wooden peg inserted at the centre. Artist name and community inscribed on bottom of goose.
