Salt Container3563/4 a-b

Woven rattan container with wooden lid. The round container is made of wood, covered in rattan basketry on the sides; rounded wood base. There are two small woven loop handles on the sides near the top. The wooden stopper (part b) is carved into a wedge shape, with a round plug that fits into the top of the container. An adhesive label on the base reads: "Ceremonial salt container".

Medicine Container3563/3 a-c

Horn-shaped bone container with carved wooden lid. Small bone container with human figure carved into pointed end; hollowed out at wider end. Wooden stopper (part b) is larger than the container. The carving on the stopper has a rider on a 4-legged animal; the animal has a humanoid face and horns; below the creature's face is a small sitting figure. The stopper and the container rim both have holes drilled through them for securing with a small wooden peg (part c) with a flattened, round end.

Adinkra Stamp3561/8 a-c

Adinkra stamp of the 'Akofena' (ceremonial sword) design, carved info a piece of calabash gourd. Parts b-c are two sticks from the handle (normally would be four). The gourd stamp (part a) has a deeply carved design of two crossed swords, with the blades curving across the top, the tips of the handles at the bottom corners. The back surface has four small holes for sticks.

Adinkra stamp of the 'Bi Nka Bi' (unity or peace) design, carved info a piece of calabash gourd. Part b is the handle, made of four sticks held togther by thread wrapped around the centre of the sticks. The gourd stamp (part a) has a deeply carved design of a circle with projections toward the outer edge and two inside. The back surface has four small holes where the pointed ends of the sticks are inserted, crossing midway up, at the thread, to form the handle.

Medicine Container3563/2

Horn container with carved wooden lid. The small horn appear to have a boar bristle fringe at the end. The carved wooden stopper is larger than the horn container. The stopper has a humanoid face on the front with an owl-like head above it; five human figures are carved in a row up the back, each with their hands on the shoulders of the one in front. The stopper is tied onto the horn with a thin fibre cord. There are holes drilled through the lid and horn for securing the closure, but the pin is missing.

Adinkra stamp of the 'Dwennimmen' (ram horns) design, carved info a piece of calabash gourd. Part b is the handle, made of four sticks held togther by dark blue thread wrapped around the centre of the sticks. The gourd stamp (part a) has a deeply carved design of four spirals with overlapping outer lines, one in each corner, with a diamond shaped hole at the centre. The back surface has four small holes where the pointed ends of the sticks are inserted, crossing midway up, at the thread, to form the handle.

Wig3566/1 a-g

Short wig made up of brown curly human hair (part a); an interior net of red yarn and plain cord holds the shape of the wig. Back edge of wig is decorated with a band of white feathers; front left and right corners of wig are decorated with small yellow flowers. Wig has six attachments, consisting of: a red parrot on a stick, that attaches to the top (part b); brown-black and white feathered wings, that attach at the front (part c); a spray of multi-coloured parrot feathers, that attach to the front of the wings (part d); two small white and yellow feathers, that stick out on either side of the wig (parts e-f); and a snake skin headband (part g). Large feather decorations (parts c-d) are missing attachments; small feathers are inserted into wig and held in place with their shafts. Headband has two ties on either side.
