Wood and glass sculpture consisting of two parallel glass panels with glass bases (parts b-c) that sit in a fitted depression on the wooden disk (part a). A pale green ribbon of rippled wood passes between the glass and is bolted to the wooden disk below. The panels are green glass, each with a frosted etching of a Maori-type paddle, with salmon and hammerhead shark motifs. Images in each panel are symmetrical in shape, and similar in design. Glass bases point away from each other. Glass panels have rippled edges.

Frog Figure1648/6

Large green painted carving of a frog. Frog figure dips inwards at the top in the centre and at the back. Body is bulbous in shape. Sculpture has painted black dots on its back. The front and back feet are angular and have lined grooves demarcating webbed feet. They are pained dark brown-red, along with the mouth. The mouth is wide and slightly opened exposing a thin tongue. The eyes are directly above the corners of the mouth and are painted black with black eye browns and have yellow coloured centres.

Transformation Mask1584/1

Mask of raven transforming into man. Raven is in two halves that separate when a string is pulled. The two pieces are hinged to sides of the interior face mask with both metal and skin hinges. The mask can close again with the pull of a separate set of strings.

The body has jointed arms, each with a long controlling rod attached. Head positioned forwards; cream face with white eyes. Black pupils looking slightly downwards; black hair, moustache, facial details. Small closed red lips. Curved pointed nose. Large crown (mahkota) headdress in red, gold and green; includes Garuda Mungkur and large badong. One hair curl (kendit) with gold stripe. Gold neck and torso; black chest and shoulder covering with rectangular apron; white trim, sequins, twisted wire decorations. Yellow frill at base of apron. Long batik skirt in beige, orange, blue and red. Each arm has ornaments in red, white, and green at wrist and bicep.

Square oak box with a front panel that slides upwards to reveal six drawers with brass pulls; drawers are filled with ivory mahjong pieces. Nailed to the outside of the box are brass corners, bat-shaped brass pieces, a circular brass piece on the sliding panel, and a top piece with two handles--brass is decoratively engraved with dotted and linear patterning, as well as several characters. Part c is a red mahjong instruction booklet. There are 289 parts (a-zzzzz, ab-gk) in all.
