Dzunuk'wa Figure2778/1 a-b

Carved and painted standing Dzunuk'wa figure (a) holding a feast dish (b). The large-headed figure standing on a square brown base is totally flat at back and has outstretched arms that are attached to the black body with pegs. Deep yellow eye sockets beneath a pronounced brow fill half of the face above a red and black nose and pursed red lips; circular yellow designs decorate the chest and knees. The rectangular shaped dish is decorated with a black face on the front, large cross hatch design on the back, yellow at both ends and a red rim and is attached to the centre of the flat hands with pegs.

Masmasa'lano2768/1

Portrait mask. Red, blue and black facial features and tattoo are painted onto the natural wood background. Abalone shell discs and a thin band are glued to the eyes and mouth and a thick coil of red bark rope is attached along the chin line. Long twists of dark hair and tied bundles of painted red bark strips with blue ends drape across the forehead and down the sides.

Wolf Pendant2776/1

Three-dimensional wolf head pendant carved from yew on a leather chain. Pendant has inlaid abalone squares around outside edge, and ovals as eyes and inlaid pieces around outer ear edges. Features around lips, inner ears and negative space of pendant are painted red. Copper cut-outs used as eyebrows, sides of nose, tongue, inner ears and claws of front feet. There are also very small circles of copper inlaid between the abalone along the edge. A fine braided leather chain with a gold clasp is attached through a gold fixture on the back of the pendant. Back has seven small holes, six of which contain copper rivets; artist signature Reid-'77.

Model CanoeC848 a-c

Wooden model canoe (parts a-c) with one outrigger. The canoe has an oval-like shape with pointed ends, a rounded bottom and interior. The surface is painted red and black with white on the bow and stern which have small sections of shallow engraving. Across the top of the canoe are six pieces of bamboo that extend out to the pontoon and also support twelve thinner stripes of bamboo that run in opposite direction. The pontoon or float (part b) is cylindrical in shape is black with pointed, tapered ends. Inside of the canoe is a small, carved wooden paddle (part c).

Baptismal FontA1776 a-c

Large wooden carving of the upper torso of a male angel, holding a bowl. Figure is round at its base (waist), dressed in a blue-grey robe, holding a black bowl with one hand. The other hand is raised, palm out, in benediction. A pair of wings (parts b,c) with the carved feather side painted grey and the other side white with grey painted feathering, attach to the back with pegs.
