Mask2655/151

A mustard coloured human portrait mask with tapered rounded chin. Eyebrows are painted black and located just above, are additional grey eyebrow markings at a sharper angle. Eyelids are cut-out and follow the shape of the black eyebrows. Eyes are carved in relief, and are white and white with mustard coloured pupils. The nose is long and narrow with two holes at the end for nostrils. Cheek bones are defined with small raised ridges and on either side of the mouth are three sets of carved grooves indicative grinning. The moustache is painted black, is separated in the middle, and tapers to a flared point at the end. The mouth is carved in relief with a slight opening to the back. Two small pegs as teeth protrude from the right side. Teeth on the left side are missing, leaving two holes.

Mask2655/158

A beige-brown skull-style mask with bulging eyes that have a red bead in the centre. There is a hole in between the eye and the black eyebrows. The nostrils and the mouth are cut out with white teeth. The cheek bones are high and pointed, and the double chin protrudes. The upper part of the face is decorated with red lines. The hair is black with carved lines. There is a white and red headband which has a triangular pattern. Two braided hair pieces are carved along the sides. There are four holes at either sides of the mask. A string is tied around the upper two holes.

Small face with raised, detailed hair, sideburns, and mustache. Brow is prominent; nose protrudes; eye holes are between eyes and eyebrows. Face has pink ground with white and black eyes, black hair and nostrils, and red lips. Two small holes per side and one on top for attaching string.

Long and narrow-shaped human mask with carved black coloured head hair, moustache, beard and eyebrows. Beard protrudes from the face and curves upwards. Eyes are carved in relief with cut-out eyelids above. Mouth has red coloured lips and white coloured teeth and is crescent-shaped.

Carnival mask with a white forehead that has a black triangular pattern on the top with black eyebrows and eyelashes that have a hole made underneath each. The rest of the face is black with a protruding red mouth. The bulging black eyes are outlined with red. The sides of the face are carved in a zigzag pattern, making high pointed cheek bones and a protruding chin. There are two holes at either sides of the mask along the eye-line.

Black human-like mask. Around the perimeter of face there are large burgundy coloured triangles and semi-circles that are outlined in yellow. The eyebrows are carved in relief, are gold in colour and have black line designs on them. The eyes are gold coloured and have black pupils and have cut-out slits above the eyelids. The mouth is small and slightly opened and has a gold and black coloured moustache above it and a small gold and black coloured beard that is surrounded in a burgundy and yellow circular design.

Paper Weight1278/2 a-b

Part a is a ceramic paper weight in the shape of a rectangular prism. It is decorated on five faces; top face is a landscape scene with two men seated on the ground near a rock and a tree; the two long side faces are decorated with a red flower and blue and gold leaves; the two small side faces are decorated with four horizontal blue lines and two vertical lines. Part b is a wooden stand that appears to be original to the object; sides have designs carved through them.

A bull with a pink face and horns attached to protrude outward at an angle. The upraised hair is carved with vertical lines. Four black horizontal lines are carved and painted on its brow. The eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes, and mouth are black. Two square holes are cut out above the eyes.
