Mask depicting bridegroom (?) king wearing a two-tiered crown composed of a half-cylindrical finial with vertical stripes and a domed base with five vertically tapered slats. The slats have a floral design, and the base of the dome has a leaf and cross-hatching design that sits on a band of vertical stripes. The face is framed by short black hair and a beard that has incised lines indicating the texture of the hair. There is a crescent-shaped slit under each eye. The nose is narrow with a pointed tip and flared nostrils. Large ear ornaments extend outward from both sides of the face and have a floral and crosshatched design.

Mask with a humanoid face wearing a dark red headdress with a multicoloured floral motif (a) flanked by two roughly semicircular appendages with a floral design attached to the head by mortise and tenon joints (b and c), and surmounted by an elaborate tiered extension to the headdress (e) that ends in a domed cap (d). The face is naturalistic, with red closed lips, a narrow nose, a red tilaka mark on the forehead and black hair. There is a raised floral design below each ear. The tiers of the headdress are multi-coloured with geometric, rope-like and leaf designs as well as wavy stripes.

Mask with red-brown humanoid face with a three-tiered headdress of overlapping petal-like forms. The face has heavy arched eyebrows that curl at the outer ends. The eyes are protruding and somewhat conical with rounded tops. The large nose has a bulbous tip and flared nostrils. The lips are drawn back from the teeth and are outlined with a black jagged design. Two upper and lower rows of pointed teeth are exposed with curved fangs at either side, and a tongue hangs out the front of the mouth. There is a rectangular motise hole at either side of the head, each with three small holes at top, bottom, and towards the front of the mask.

Bull RepresentationEg117

Bull's head, ornately carved and painted. Cream coloured base colour overall on face of bull decorated with yellow-brown designs outlined in red lines with black dots. Horns are attached to head with metal nails and are dark red with yellow tips. There is a green spot on top of the bull's head. There are rope-like designs across the snout in dark yellow-brown for the bridle. Hole are present behind each horn as well as in the neck under the head. A band of metal wire is looped through the head and neck.

A plain shaft that is bound at the base with fibre. There is a long black, red, and white geometric patterned point which is elaborately carved with two sets of inward pointing crown-like feature pair projections below and a herringbone pattern above. The tip of the point ends in an elongated cone. The end of the shaft is notched.

Mask likely depicting Slesma Sanniya (which represents epileptic fits, or phlegmatic diseases). The face is painted black with an undercoat of green and has thick arched brows with red diamond-shaped lozenge between them at the top of the head. The mask also has a wide, short nose with flaring nostrils, bulging round eyes with red rims as well as crescent-shaped holes under each, a grinning mouth with wide red lips, four square upper teeth and no lower ones. There are holes on either side at temples, with red twine running through one and woven hemp ? through the other. Reverse has a typewritten label that reads, "SLESMA SANNI: epliepsy," below which is written "29."

Mask depicting Gulu Sanniya (which represents dumbness) with deeply set eye sockets, a prominent blunt nose, a very large open mouth with lips drawn back to show protruding teeth, and a low forehead. The eyes have large black irises with a white dot at the centre, and the top half of each eye is outlined in black. The teeth are painted white and outlined in black, and the face is painted dark red. There is a hole in either side of the mask at the top of each cheek, and a strip of off-white cloth has been attached through the holes.

Mask most likely depicting Murtu Sanniya (which represents swooning and fainting spells), but it could also be Kana Sanni (which represents blindness). The face is painted brown, the eyes have black pupils with drooping white eyelids outlined in red and black, the eyebrows are high arches, and there is an indentation between the eyes. There are crescent-shaped slits below the eyes, the nose has red nostrils, and the lips are also painted red. There is a hole on either side at the temples through which is threaded a white fabric strap. Label reads: "(Most probably) MURTU SANNI: swooning & fainting spells; but could be KANA: blindness" in typed letters, and "21" is written in the bottom corner of the label.

Model Totem PoleA6681

Small wooden totem pole with four figures. The front of the totem pole has three planes into which the four figures are carved. The figures may represent abstract forms of sea or water animals, possibly a whale, fish and frog? The figures are painted green and accented with white. The pole is painted red and rests on a small base painted green and red.
