Small unpainted, wooden, Dzunuk'wa style mask, without eye or mouth holes. Wood grain is prominent, creating circles at eyes and forehead, and emphasizing the round protruding mouth. Back is flat, with "Ellen Neel" carved below centre.
Small weaving with diamond and zigzag patterns in green, yellow, off-white and brown. Top loops of weaving hang over a wooden dowel. Blue 'Salish Weaving' tag sewn to back.
Wooden figure of a deer. Creature is carved from several pieces of wood, with torso and head one piece, legs each separate pieces nailed onto the body. Tail is thick and held upright. Neck curves slightly upward, mouth open as if animal is calling. Large antlers rise from the top of the head and are painted black with white spots. The large diamond shaped ears are inset and glued into the head, sticking out to either side below the antlers. White, green and black eyes surrounded by long lashes are painted onto either side of the head. The body is painted red with a dense covering of small white dots overpainted by large black patches. Face has short lines of green.
Wooden figure of a cheetah. Cat is carved from several pieces of wood, with torso and head one piece, legs each separate pieces nailed onto the body in a running position. Tail is long and tapered at end, also nailed to body. The large round ears are inset and glued into the head. Eyes and mouth are incised and nose protrudes slightly. Whiskers and small spots are painted onto face, eyes are painted orange surrounded by black, and ears have short black lines. Body and legs are painted with the outline of large, irregular spots in black, each with a dot inside. Tail is painted with stripes and a black tip.
Wooden figure of a lion. Cat is in a standing position, with legs and tail all separate pieces of wood attached with small metal nails. Head is painted light red with large triangular ears at top, and nose whiskers and forehead fringe painted in black. Eyes are yellow. Long neck has a thick ruff, painted with black stripes. Short black lines are painted along the body, with long black lines on the tail.
Wooden figure of an animal. Creature is in a standing position, barrel shaped torso concave on the underside, long legs made of separate pieces of wood inserted into the torso at bottom. Bright green tail is long and wide, extending out from the body. Head is triangular in shape, painted purple, with large triangular ears at top. Large eyes are painted white with prominent eyelashes. Body and legs are red, with a wide green belt around midpoint. Short lines and open circles decorates the torso.
Round, tightly woven willow wood basket. From a small, flat base the wall flares upward toward the wide mouth. A stepped line pattern in light brown repeats in encircling lines, visible on both exterior and interior, and small light blue beads are evenly placed just below the rim, incorporated into the weave.
Walking stick (or cane). Carved and painted hardwood. Figures have been carved all the way from the tip of the handle to close to the base, with a small plain area just above the foot. The handle itself is carved into a beaver with fins, just below that is a human-like figure with fins or wings, wearing a hat with three potlatch rings, a whale tail is carved at his base. Next is a whale with four human faces in its blowholes, then a bear, then two small whales.
Amulet carved from antler in the shape of a side-facing killer whale, with engraved designs all over the front side. Abalone inlay for eyes, teeth, nostrils and the various ovoid decorations around its body. The back is uncarved and undecorated.
Large bentwood bowl, or dish. Wrapped around the four sides are painted images of killer whales, their heads meeting at the front, their tails at the back. Human-like faces appear in the whales’ blowholes and above the heads; a face with an upturned mouth and two ears looks out above the tail flukes, its clawed hands/paws on either side, and slender legs extending around to either side of the bowl. Dark red border around upper edge. Yellow cedar sides, red cedar base.
