Carved wooden paddle. Leaf-shaped blade with a knob carved in the shape of a bird's head at the tip; swirl designs emphasized with white near the top are carved along the top of the blade. Top of the handle has a scroll finial.

Obsidian set in wood, then attached to thin wood shaft. Geometric design outlined with string and accented with white seeds. Obsidian blade a curved triangle in cross section and comes to a point. From the base of the point, the design is as follows: white diamond shapes surrounded by red; a plain brown section with a horizontal red band around the middle; and three sets of four seeds along sets of two diamond shapes surrounded by black.

Chipped blade set in wood with pitch and fibre lashings. The shaft is made of cane. Geometric decorations outlined with string and accented with white seeds. Obsidian blade is triangular in cross section and is flat at the end. From the base of the point, the design is as follows: a red x-formation surrounded by white at either side and black at either end; and five sets of four seeds around red, white, and black diamond shapes.

Carved mask attached to headpiece by fibres. Face is painted in geometric designs in white, red, and black. Shells for the eyes. Headpiece has real grey-brown hair at either side covered in white clay and an extended ridge running front to back along the middle, and is built on a frame of strips of red orange-brown wood and bark cloth. Elaborate decoration.

Cylindrical, brown wood handle that curves around at a forty degree angle. The end is curved into a y-shape and has a spur. The inside of the curve has a rectangular panel of white. The upper portion of the handle is covered with braided fibre in alternating brown and black rings. There is a knob at the end of the handle.

Eel TrapC753

Trap with latticework walls composed of strips of wood lashed together with twined plant fibre. The entrance to the trap is a cylindrical hole that connects to a plant fibre net leading to the interior of the trap. The roof comes to a point at the centre and slants downwards from the trap opening end to the opposite end. Two wooden bars are attached vertically to both sides of the trap. Two small doors on the bottom of the trap at the end with the opening, and one door held on with two tapered sticks at the opposite end.
