Harpoon HeadE271

Iron harpoon head with a wooded, cylindrical handle wrapped with twisted cotton twine. The harpoon head has a short cylindrical body that tapers to a point; four barbs. There is circular rubber stop between the harpoon head and the handle along with a loop of heavy, twisted cord attached to the base.

Mask (a) made from two pieces of wood joined down the centre of the mask at an angle and supported by a triangular piece of wood at the top. The mask is painted white with heavy black eyebrows, light blue around the circular eyes with a red and blue design element at the temples, red nostrils, a black scalloped design that arches over the cheeks from the nostrils to the chin, a black moustache, red lips, and a black line under the lower lip. A tuft of off-white and brown feathers, some of which are painted blue at the tips, are attached to a wooden stick with blue string and adhesive fabric tape that has been painted blue (b), and the tuft fits into a hole in the top of the mask.

Mask (a) depicting a flat face with slightly pointed chin, the area around mouth slightly recessed with protruding red lips. Painted with heavy black eyebrows, blue around the eyes, and red on the nostrils. There is a black painted moustache, a scalloped design in black and red around the mouth area, and a black u-shape with two white circles beside the eyes. The remainder of the face is white. Two bunches of grey, brown and white feathers secured to two wooden sticks with blue string and adhesive white fabric tape (b and c) fit into two holes in the forehead.
