A plain cane shaft is stained dark but undecorated. The base of the point is wrapped with string tied in a series of half hitches. The point is elaborately carved in geometric pattern consisting of dots and diamond shapes, and the tip of the point is bound with a bone barb.

Wood squaree beater pounder tapers to become a round handle which flares outward slightly at the end. Three sides of the beater have reeded grooves, with the other side being flat. Used for pounding off bark cloth from the mulberry tree until it is wider to create the tapa.

A handle which tapers to a straight edge. The main design along the handle is woven with lozenges and chevrons. Sixteen long teeth fan outward radially. The teeth are secured by a twisted band of fibre string between each tooth.
