Wooden D-adze; blade has been made from a file. Leading end flared to a slightly curved sharp edge. Bound onto wooden handle with rawhide strip. Squared-off wooden handle with bulbous back end carved to resemble snout, head and breast of a bird-like animal.

Halibut HookA2254

Fish hook composed of a u-shaped piece of hardwood with a ground bone point lashed with rope at an acute angle to the shorter arm. The longer arm has a circumferential groove with a rope leader attached.

D-adze handle or haft. Angularly carved head and snout (with protruding tongue) of a zoomorphic figure on handle butt. Lower handle arm has hole drilled through for hafting blade.

Narrow, dark, coarse stone blade that is wedge-shaped. Grooved along the top face toward the butt end to hold the hafting securely. Was originally lashed with hide strips (now wired) to a carved wood hafting platform with an acutely-angled branch providing a handle. Hide strips are looped and attached around the handle.

Wooden container with a cylindrical shaped handle, a triangular flat back with a large cone protrusion. The container is covered in black dyed leather and studded with nails. There is a hole at the end of the handle. The bottom edge of the base has holes with remnants of fibre twine still attached.

Unfinished MaskD3.176

Humanoid mask in the process of being carved out of a tree trunk. Mask is in the centre of a large cut into the side of a section of tree trunk, has two recessed eyes, a long protruding nose, and mouth curved into a smirk-like arrangement. A series of deep, horizontal channels are carved into the forehead and cheeks.

A loom (part a-c) with an unfinished woven textile consisting of pink, green, yellow, orange and blue stripes of geometric patterns on a purple ground. The textile is attached at the top and bottom to cylindrical shaped wooden sticks (part a). Intertwine in the multi-coloured warp is a cylindrical shaped heddle covered in purple twine; two cylindrical wooden tools and two flat, rectangular battens with triangular, pointed ends (parts b and c).

Oval-shaped birch bark basket with straight, vertical sides and a flat, fitted lid. Top of lid and sides of basket are entirely covered with multicoloured quillwork--a geometric design on the lid and a zigzagging pattern around the sides. Sides of the lid are made of thin, dark brown strips of willow interwoven with flattened, white quills to create a checkered geometric pattern. Bottom of basket is made from a wooden panel nailed to the birch bark sides

Circular woven basket with a flat bottom, straight, vertical sides and a flat lid that is attached to the basket with ties on one side--two loops to be tied together with string are on the opposite side of the lid and top of the basket. Three concentric circles of black, red, and gold enameled willow ring the lid, while three similar bands encircle the sides of the basket.
