Small argillite carving of an abstract bird form. The head and beak point upward, with its wings flat at sides. Bird stands on rectangular base. Lightly engraved signature on back: "Skidegate McGuire 68".
Pair of silver and argillite earrings. Black squares of argillite are carved to show the side view of a grizzly bear’s face, squared ears at top, a prominent nose with curled nostril, and an open mouth. A silver border surrounds the argillite and attaches to the screw backs.
Yellow cedar sculpture depicting a female with two cubs on top and a bear at the bottom. There are fourteen operculum shell teeth set into the bear. There is a face carved on the underside of the sculpture. The back is hollow. Inscription on back, artist name, date, title.
Carving of a fisherwoman. Painted figure stands on a thick round base, knees slightly bent, arms at sides. On her face is painted an intricate mask with cowrie shell eyes, thin ropes hanging from her orange ears, wrists and torso. A large white, brown and orange bird stands on top, pecking at her brow. Its wings are held close to its body. Artist’s signature painted on front of base.
Argillite brooch in shape of curved whale with small triangular dorsal fin at top. Metal pin clasp on back. Unsigned.
Round argillite pendant with small double hanging loop at top, of gold coloured metal. Disk shows an upright bird with its head looking right and wings outstretched, with a fish in its talons. Lightly engraved artist signature on reverse: "Arthur Moody Skidegate BC Oct 25 1958".
Small argillite model pole. A grizzly bear sits on a square plinth, back legs bent at the knees with feet to the front. Head is large, with rounded ears at top, ovoid eyes, a short snout and a wide, closed mouth from which emerges a very long tongue. Forelegs are bent at wrists, feet to either side of the tongue, with long sharp claws meeting the knees.
Rosary beads. Stone beads strung on plastic fibre are green with veins of white, mainly square in shape with a few flat pieces intermixed. At bottom is a flat diamond made of the same stone, with a very small hole bored into bottom point to which is tied a white tassel.
Carved, lidded box. Dark brown thin and oblong box, with heads emerging at both ends serving as handles. Bottom portion of box (part a) has a thick base, with shallowly carved interior dish. Exterior is heavily carved with intricate faces and curved lines, with inset circles of iridescent shell for eyes. Two holes are carved into the rim of the box into which fit corresponding squares of wood emerging from the lid (part b). Lid is similar in shape to bottom portion, with a shallow interior, and heavy intricate exterior carvings. A wide face sits at either end with the same iridescent shell for eyes.
Shinje Taita or Father Sun mask. Face is long and narrow with a prominent pointed chin. The face is painted red with small black eyebrows. There are holes for eyes, nostrils and mouth. The eyes are deeply set and close together. The nose has a narrow ridge, and the mouth has pursed lips. A headband of alternating squares of green and yellow with red dots extends across the forehead with yellow feathers and a single brown feather extending up from. Two colourful feathers extend down from the headband - one on each temple. There are two holes on either side of the face with a leather strap attached for wearing.
