Skull mask with rounded forehead and chin, prominent cheeks, and moveable jaw. Face is painted orange-brown, with black eye cavities; bared teeth are done in grey-white. Circular eyes are cut out, with the nasal aperture, carved in relief, between them. Three holes drilled in top edge of mask, with fibre rigging knotted through them. Interior is hollow.
Humanoid male mask with oval-shaped eyes, pointed nose, and round face. Mask has curved eyebrows, defined cheeks, and pursed lips. Short hair, combed to side, carved in relief; hair ends at large protruding ears. Face is glossy brown, with eyebrows, eyes, and hair painted black; lips are red. Eye hole cut outs above painted eyes. Three holes drilled along top edge of mask, and one beneath each; metal hooks attached to inner sides. Interior is hollow, with additional groove for nose to slot in. "B.P.D." written along interior edge.
Standing wood figure (ibeji) on circular base. Nude figure stands straight, with arms at sides, connected to hips. Thin torso, with slightly rounded stomach, underneath pointed breasts. Has pronounced belly button, buttocks, and genitalia. Lines carved along edges of hands and feet, imitating fingers and toes. Figure has a long nose, open mouth, and two sets of four lines incised across each cheek. Eyes are bulging and have metal nails hammered into their centres. Ears carved in relief and rest flat against head. Head comes to a point, with a raised oval-shape draped across it; tips of oval touch ears on either side of head. Figure has strands of beads wrapped around neck, waist, and wrists. Circular beads around neck are dark blue, with red and white zigzag decorations around openings. Two strands of beads around waist are circular and black. Tubular beads at wrists are yellow, with green and maroon stripes across them. Rectangular sticker on bottom of base.
Gelede mask (part a) that depicts a squat human face with horns; left horn is separate (part b). Face has protruding eyes, triangular nose, and pointed lips; carved ears rest flat against head. Pupils drilled out. Scarification on the cheeks, four diagonal lines, and on forehead, three vertical lines. Top and sides, of upper half of mask, are raised; right side is partially cross-hatched. Eyes are white, outlined in black, and scars are painted black; face is painted red-brown, and upper section is dark green-blue. White horns consist of large ovals that narrow into cylinders; cylinder sections attach to sides of head with nails. Hole drilled into top centre of mask. Interior is roughly carved out and undecorated. Ring attached to top edge, for hanging purposes.
Whirling wolf headdress (hinkeetsim), made of two planks with an adjoining nose piece, base, and five slats; three on top and two on bottom. Slats form a triangular frame, with headdress tapering towards front. Wolf face is carved and painted on exterior of planks, using formline design elements. High nostrils swirl above top edge of mask, with triangular cut outs. Curved line, made of U-shapes, extends from wide bared teeth and behind large eyes. Eyes are black and white, inside a red ovoid. Triangles and squares in negative space of face. Three circles, connected with a curved line, above eyes. Rows of multi-coloured semi-circles protrude from back of mask. Mask is painted white, with designs done in red, yellow, orange, black, and green. Additional pieces of wood attached to interior, to support circular decorations along top edge. Base has a circular cut out, for head, in between the two slats. Interior is undecorated.
Model totem pole with three carved figures; from top, figures are: human, kingfisher, kingfisher. The human is crouched on top of a kingfisher, with their fingers curled around its back. The kingfisher is bent over with its wings tilted upward, framing the human, and beak pointed down. Its head is framed on either side by the wings of the kingfisher below. Second kingfisher done in identical pose, with larger wings, and is standing on a rounded base. Base has a water creature, carved in relief, curled around itself along the bottom edge. Human is red, kingfishers are grey, and sea creature is black; formline design elements throughout in black, green, red, and yellow. Artist name and design name, Kingfishers, written on bottom.
Small soapstone carving of a fox, depicted lying down with its chest slightly raised on the forearms. The head is turned to its left, and the tail curves along the same side. Face has small holes carved into it to represent eyes and nostrils; straight line through snout for a mouth. Pointed ears have small divots carved into their centres. Label on base reads: "D1027 Pelly Bay EI4-1".
Wolf mask, made of two planks with an adjoining nose piece, and four slats at the back; two on top and two on bottom. Slats form a triangular frame, with mask tapering towards front. Wolf face is painted on exterior of planks, using formline design elements. Nose is black, with a wide band along length of snout and brow; white crescents across brow. Additional band, with U-shapes and trigons, extends from long line of white bared teeth. Row of alternating red and black ovoids along the bottom edge. Eyes are white and black, inside a red ovoid; additional ovoids carved around eye. Semi-circular ears attached to top edge; divots carved in centres, and edges painted black. Short bundle of cedar tied onto nose piece; three bundles attached to top of frame, with cedar curving behind slats and underneath mask. Small feather inserted into top centre bundle. Top edges of mask are painted black; interior is undecorated. Artist signature, West Coast Wolf, and date made written inside of mask, towards back opening.
Wolf mask, carved from one piece of wood; face is triangular, tapering at chin. Wide rectangular ridge runs down centre, with black marks along length, ending at nose; eyes carved on either side. Eyes are oval-like, carved in relief, with narrow pupils; painted lines extend from sides of eyes. Small triangular divots at ends of nose, for nostrils; carved and painted lines on either side for whiskers. Wide mouth carved into bottom edge, with long red tongue sticking out. Wolf face is painted white; facial features highlighted with black. Four holes cut out of mask, two along top edge, on either side of ridge, and two along length of ridge. Interior is undecorated.
Crawling wolf mask, made of a single piece of wood; interior has been hollowed out. Mask has a circular open top and bottom; wide slit opening at back. Head portion extends into a long, rounded snout with high nostrils. Below are chevron-shaped teeth, carved in relief, pointing towards back of mask; painted white with dark red in between. Black and white eyes, set in a red ovoids, painted on either side of mask. Mask exterior is painted black, except for bridge between nostrils and snout. Three metal hooks drilled around sides of top opening, with a thick cord wrapped through each hook; cords knotted together in centre of opening. Wide band of cloth looped around knotted cords, and a small cord knotted around front hook. Additional holes drilled along edges of bottom opening, on left and right sides; each side has a long piece of cloth attached. Small tags attached to interior walls, with carved number, 707-555-645, next to them.
