Multi-strands grouped into two twisted lenths, then twisted together rope-like.Object consists of several rope lenths folded together and tied with old "shelf number" tag. Rehoused 4/2004. New tag with #33 was on object, don't know when it was attached. I left this tag and the shelf tag mentioned above on the object. Also incldes attached bag of debris from object. Description on #33 Basketry card is vauge and may not match this object. B. Avery. Two pieces of split wood were tied together with string and original tag #38, in drawer. One measures 5.8 cm long - 0.7 cm wide, and is flat. The other measures 6.2 cm in long - 0.8 cm wide, and has approx. 1.0 cm bent extentsion at widest end. The end that is bent also shows some delamination. Rehoused 4/2004, I left the original tag in place since the description does not exactly match the Basketry Card. B. Object originally unlabeled. Item matches Basketry Card 39 well and that card had no mate in collection. Wooden club displaying a carved face with downturned mouth and prominent nose figure appears to be wearing a hat. A hand extends up the back of the head. Scalloped decoration on the handle. There is a small hole drilled in the base. The club has been heavily varnished and wood filler has been used. (A. Stalgis 4/18/03)

Two bundles of fairly uniform twisted materials, twisted "rope" style around eachother.The twist between the two is still held toward the middle portion of the piece, but both ends are unraveled. One twisted bundle has more strands than other. Original tag #37 was removed from object, bagged, and added to archives. Rehoused 04/2004, by B. Avery.
