Coca Bag2509/1

Cloth bag with a long, thin woven handle. The red bag has a series of vertical stripes of multiple colours with white geometric designs, and central wide band with geometric shapes and birds in white. At the right and left folds of the bag, there are alternating circular shapes in white, pink, and yellow. They are divided by green and pink wavy lines. At the bottom of the bag, there is a fringe of multi-coloured wool strings. Bag strap also has white animal, bird, floral motifs.

Small cone-shaped doll with wool fibre stuffed inside body. Body is covered in woven cedar bark. Head is round, and doll has black coloured fibre hair that is tied in two braids.

Small red dress with beadwork. The dress has a v-neck, short sleeves and flared skirt. There are rectangular beadwork panels on the upper front, back and sleeves. The panels have a triangle motif in yellow and black on white ground. The inside is unlined.

Dance Apron1767/3

Dark blue dance apron with many flattened copper pieces and mountain goat hooves hanging from the front. Two rows of skin fringe; the first is cut into 1/2 to 1 1/2 cm wide strips with a hoof sew onto the end of each one; the second has 1/2 cm wide strips with flattened copper on each end. Hem edge also has a strip of red cotton sewn over it. The green, red and beige striped apron tie is in one piece, basted along the front edge near the top edge and extending beyond the apron. Inside is lined with cotton over the front section and there is a safety pin at the side.

Button Blanket1764/1

Button blanket made of dark blue wool with a red felt border. A red frog image is appliqued in the centre of the blanket with eyes made from discs of abalone shell and a mouth outlined in white glass beads. The four corners have designs representing coppers in red applique. The images and inside of the border are outlined with buttons, the border in two alternating sizes.

The textile is thin and black with an open weave in a diamond pattern. Some stitches are thicker than others. Originally the textile was square in shape, but a large portion of one corner has deteriorated as well as other areas along the edges.

Sash1774/6

Long, narrow, coarsely woven wool sash. Cloth is predominantly red, which is patterned at each end with large, off-white round symbols. The symbols have been applied to the textile using a clamp-resist dyeing technique. There is a dark grey-black border (about 14 cm) at each end, and the ends are trimmed with very long twisted fringes of various lengths (the longest being c. 82.5 cm), some grey-black, some red, some off-white; the fringe strands are embellished at regular intervals with small tufts of wool, made into tassels.
