The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Shawl. Long garment is tightly woven, showing horizontal lines of dark grey-blue interspersed with thin red lines that widen at one edge. Thick tassels hang from each end, the remnants of the weft. At the ends are areas of heavy embroidery in white and yellow, in vertical lines, diamond shapes, and other motifs. One corner holds a small, round, black wax stamp.
Textile. Long cloth has stripes of dark blue and light green-grey, interspersed with thin lines of red, yellow and grey. Toward the ends are areas of heavy embroidery in a wide variety of bright colours, mainly in triangles and squares. The centre of the textile is embroidered with small gammadion crosses in different colours. Warp ends make a short fringe along both edges.
Long sash. Textile is woven in horizontal stripes in colours of green, red, orange and tan, each with a chevron pattern in a different colour running the length of the stripe. Long multicoloured woven tassels hang from each end of the sash, tied off at their ends.
Long shawl or scarf. Textile woven in a tan base colour, with red, blue, and orange embroidery in thick thread showing star and square motifs along the length of the garment. Ends have panels of embroidery in the same colours, with large diamonds between square borders. Fringe hangs from each end. Underside shows the knotting of the stitches.
Headdress of vibrantly coloured macaw, toucan and parrot feathers. Long bright blue feathers create a brim at front of headdress, coming to a point at centre. These are topped by a layer of shorter green and yellow feathers. Above the brim stands a crown of feathers arranged around the circular headband, very tall at front centre and shortening toward sides, lined in front with a set of shorter green and red feathers matching those on the brim. The bark headband is covered with small multicoloured feathers, with red fibre at the bottom. Three tall feathers stand upright on the rear of the headband. Below are tied several long strands of fibre, some threaded with small white glass beads. Intermittently down each strand are attached feathers in various sizes, some in small groupings gathered at their quills by short lengths of palm tubes, as well as elongated, dark brown seeds. Together the strands create a dense layer down the back of the wearer. To both sides of the headband are attached a string of seeds, ending in a flower shape, created by green, white and red feathers.
