You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Thick, short jacket that goes on over the head (no front opening). It has pink silk(?) on the arms and chest, with a bottom panel of flowers and foliage on a white background. Around the neck is a large, elaborate collar made of multi-coloured beads that sits on the chest and shoulders. Similar beading is attached to each sleeve at the wrist. Inside each cuff and around the neck is an encircling piece of thick paper to keep the area stiff. The neck and cuffs of the garment are made of black fur. The interior of the coat is lined with white and blue cotton, over a thick padding of red felt.
Pair of green knit wrist bands. Each piece is relatively narrow at the mid-point and flares toward the opening on the ends. The scalloped edging pieces at the openings are knit separately and attached to the wristlet by red wool. Each wrist band is decorated with crisscrossing lines of white beads, with each created diamond enclosing five red beads.

The colours are, from outside to centre: red brown, a strip of coloured lines running vertically, a vertical panel in a circle motif of red and white with a grey line running down the centre, dark brown, a wider panel in a diamond motif of red and white with a yellow line running down the middle, a second strip of coloured vertical lines, a thick line of red brown. This arrangement continues in the opposite to the edge.
Wooden two-piece headdress or helmet mask. The body of the headdress is in the shape of a crocodile head, with big round eyes at front, ears the shape of an inverted V, and a long thick snout full of red teeth, some with rope tied around the base. A dog(?) decorated with white, blue, and red spots is held in the teeth. At the back of the crocodile’s head is a bird attached to the mask at head and feet. It too is decorated with dots, as well as stripes and blocks of colour. On top of the mask is a standing human figure that fits into a hole. The figure is detachable (part b) and has an elaborate headdress, painted facial markings and neck rings. The figure has blue arms, breasts, and buttocks, and red hands and feet. A piece of rope is tied around the right wrist.
Pair of hide moccasins with designs in moose hair tufting, dyed in shades of bright green and red and placed to make flowers, leaves and stems. Around the opening of the moccasin is a ring of brown fur. Beneath and on the sides of the heel are panels of red felt. The upper inside toe is lined with heavy cotton. One moccasin has worn through at the heel, the other is worn through at the ball of the foot.
Doll inside a hide carrier. The doll’s head protrudes out of the top of the carrier and wears a fur trimmed hood that ties under the chin. Each eye is a small black bead, with three red beads creating the mouth. The doll wears a rawhide top decorated with fringe on the shoulders and stitched closed down the front. Hands are crossed over the stomach. The carrier is closed tightly around the doll by thongs that crisscross across the front. Brown fur covers the sides and back of the carrier, a strip of white fur partially covers the back from top to bottom, and a rawhide fringe decorates the top back.
Pair of soft beaded hide gloves, or gauntlets, that reach to mid forearm. On the back of the hand are three lines of beads, white and red, with the two outer lines holding three green leaves each. On the back of the wrist is a white beaded flower with dark red centre and accent. It has two vines in the same colours, also with three green leaves per vine. On the outside wrist edge of each glove is a long hide fringe. The top cuff of the glove is rounded, while the underside cuff is straight. The wrist portion of the glove is decorated front and back as well as top and bottom with scalloped edging.
Heavily beaded baby carrier. The back piece is made of a thick, flat board of wood, rounded at top, narrowing considerably toward bottom, covered in hide. The front top of the board is beaded with a pattern of flowers of (from top) blue, brown, red and yellow with blue, all attached to green vines with leaves. The background is white beads. The bottom front half of the board is a leather tie-up bag with a canvas collar into which a baby can be placed. Over this is black velvet, beaded with three multicoloured, large flowers connected by a black and white vine. Green scalloped material edges the apron. The back side is red fabric with a blue and yellow flower pattern. On the back of the carrier is a belt attached at both sides.
