Basket1566/1

Round basket with inward curing walls and a lid that fits snugly into the opening. A handle goes across shoulders and is attached by two fibre loops through the shoulder; the lid is flat and has a central knob; the lid is attached by knotted cord that goes through lip and around the knob. Exterior walls are decorated with diamond designs of dyed cherry bark .

Chair Cover1527/4

Large red wool cover with embroidery. The cover is rectangular with a scalloped top edge and corners. At the top and bottom there are embroidered butterfly, peony, lotus and prunus motifs in white, blue, green and gold. The back is lined with blue cotton.

Red wool skirt with two decorative folds horizontally through the middle. Along the scalloped bottom edge is a navy embroidered floral design. At the top is a pink cotton band with ties at the side; fabric gathers along the top seam. The red fabric has a yellow stamp along the bottom edge.

Boot with cylindrical black wool leg lined with dark red wool attached to an upper composed of knit grey and off-white wool at the top of the foot and around the ankle with dyed multicoloured fabric at the base of the foot and upturned, pointed toe. The sole of the shoe is composed of thick brown skin. the seams of the shoe are accented with multicoloured embroidery and there is a layer of skin between the sole and the upper.
