The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

The head cloth is long and narrow with a geometric pattern and long fringe. The pattern shows the same bipedal figure repeated six times in shades of brown, red, yellow and green. At both ends there is a band of diamonds in a diagonal pattern, followed by a section of tightly woven rows leading to a long multi-coloured fringe.
Complete loom width of dark yellow, weft-faced weaving with tapestry borders of interlocking spirals in red and dark yellow. Tapestry bands with feather motifs in red and two shades of yellow are sewn to both ends, next to the spirals. Fragments of seaming thread indicate the piece was folded transversely, and seamed together.
One complete panel of tie-dyed 'patchwork' tunic. Step triangles, dyed in red, green, and three shades of blue are arranged in radially symmetrical patterns. All colours have resist-dyed designs of small and large circles and bars. The colours line up in diagonal rows. Warp and weft selvedges are almost intact.
Long narrow band of red-brown bast fibre. Braided areas alternate with tapestry woven step blocks and step frets in red, green and yellow alpaca yarns. The dark outlining of the tapestry designs is almost completely deteriorated. The braided areas are three part. Part a is the large braided band, part b is a brown braided fragment, and c is a smaller brown braided fragment. The band is broken and very fragile.
Rectangular, natural-coloured rug with woven designs. In the centre are five multicoloured, rectangular Yei figures holding spears and bunches of feathers(?), with arrows hanging from their elbows. On each figure the face, arms and legs are the same colour. There is a braided rope sewn on each end.
Purple damask jacket. The jacket has a standing collar, front pockets, side slits and a centre opening with brass frog closures. The damask silk is woven with a peony motif. The jacket is lined with yellow-white lamb’s wool.
Small rectangle of brown cotton cloth veneered on one face with stem stitch embroidery. Frontal view of brown bodied creature with yellow and green wings and blue ears set against a red background. Two adjacent finished edges and two cut edges. Z-spun, and two plied s yarns.
Irregular, white cotton textile with row of six profile llamas (some partial) with double-headed snakes above their backs. Red and black llamas alternate, each with chevron stripes of yellow, black, blue, and red. The patterning is in a supplementary weft weave. One finished edge is partially intact and has three heading cords in place. The other fabric edges are oxidized or cut.
Cut piece of tapestry border with added fringe. Stripes of yellow, red and black flank a central panel with repeated zoomorphic creatures having human, feline and avian characteristics. The zoomorphic figures are repeated against chevron shapes of reds, yellows and browns. The figures are outlined in black. Parts of two loom widths are sewn together and a separately woven yellow fringe is sewn to one long side.
Red tapestry headband with five frontal male figures woven with camelid (alpaca ?) wefts on cotton warps. Yellow, green, white, black, brown and two shades of blue are used to define the angular figures who wear headdresses and hold staffs. The headband has cut wefts at the selvedges which are reinforced with stitched seams to retard fraying. Worn areas are mended with ancient thread. Z-spun, two ply s (alpaca) yarns; z-spun, two ply s, re-ply z (cotton).
