Sleeveless dress with embroidery. The dress has a round neck, no sleeves and partial centre back opening with glass buttons. The bodice is black velveteen with large machine embroidered floral motifs in red, pink and yellow. The skirt has vertical stripes in three shades of green, two shades of blue, purple and off-white. There is a black velveteen border around the hemline with large floral motifs, narrow bands of white lace and sequins. The skirt is lined with starched cotton muslin with printed pink floral pattern. Very stiff and heavy.
Rectangular, ceremonial skirt, or apron. The main body of the piece is made of black cotton textile which is bordered at the top with a narrow, multicoloured, horizontal stripe. The lower third of the garment consists of a finely-woven, horizontally striped, multicoloured textile, with many woven geometric motifs. A horizontal row of closely-spaced brown plastic buttons is affixed to the apron just above this patterned textile and extends almost all the way across the width of the garment. Many long strands of dark red glass and metallic cylindrical beads, interspersed with white seeds, are attached below this row of buttons and hang freely to the bottom of the garment. Each strand of beads is finished with a tuft of wool, resembling a small tassel.
Multicoloured wool apron. The apron is tightly pleated onto the waistband that fastens with hook and eye closures in the back. There are vertical stripes in three shades of green, two shades of blue, purple and off-white. There is a black velveteen border around the hemline with large machine embroidered flowers and leaves in red, pink, white and green; two narrow bands of white lace, silver and green sequins and small glass beads. Very stiff and heavy. The inside is unlined.
Woman’s multicoloured blouse with embroidery, sequins and beadwork. The loose-fitting blouse has long, full raglan sleeves, a narrow neckband and opening on the left side front with no fastener. The front and back are identical except for the neck opening. Hand embroidery and beadwork cover the entire surface of the blouse, leaving only a narrow band of textile visible at the bottom hem. The design consists of diamond shapes enclosing stylized flowers, worked in multicoloured glass beads. Each design is surrounded by facetted silver metal sequins, gold metallic embroidery and black embroidery. The neckband has a diamond shaped design worked in black, yellow and blue thread. The sleeves are finished with a single row of facetted gold metal sequins and fringe made of gold metallic thread and gold metal sequins. The inside is unlined.
A woman's fitted sleeveless off-white vest with collar and lapels, mock pockets at the front waist line, and no front closures. Decorated with braid, appliquéd coloured fabric, sequins, and metallic gold-coloured thread. The textile is a woven, napped cotton or wool, resembling suede or felt. Red and blue textile on collar and lapels, as well as in appliquéd design, front and back, are of the same type of textile. Narrow gold-coloured braid (.3 cm.) forms a decorative free-form vine, leaf, and flower pattern attached by machine. Sequins and very small metal beads incorporated into design. Edge of collar, lapels, centre front, and bottom edge finished with saw-tooth edging (.5 cm.) of blue textile, gold-coloured braid (.8 cm.), and gold metal fringe (2 cm.) with gold-coloured metal sequins. Armholes finished with saw-tooth edging and gold-coloured braid.
