Coca Bag3486/49

Small coca leaf bag (chuspa) with tubular-woven edgings (ribetes) on seams and edgings, and a short yarn fringe on the bottom. A quadruped, possibly a fox with a bushy tail, is woven on one side and concentric diamond shapes on the other.

Dance Sling3486/45

A complete dance sling (wichi wichi). It has a small vestigial cradle that is finger-woven. The large handle on one side has a number of diamond and diagonal patterns along its length. The final section has a series of tassels and there is a finger loop hidden between the first two tassels. The second handle is thinner and also has diamond patterns and a tiny finger loop below the first tassel. Both handles end in three branches, each with tassels on the ends.

Dance Sling3486/43

A complete dance sling (wichi wichi) with a finger-woven cradle and handles made of solid braids. The red and white yarns are carried in the core of the braid until needed for the figures, which include lizards and diamonds. The handles are adorned with bright pompoms and end in red tassels.

Dance Sling3486/38

A small-size dance sling (wichi wichi) with a finger-woven cradle and solid braids for handles. The bigger braid ends in a tassel made of 3 solid braids and has a finger loop braided in just above the tassel. The bigger braid has various diamond patterns while the smaller braid has a 4-colour chevron pattern.

Bodice3569/1

Woven bodice with wide embroidered panel across upper section. At centre of panel is a column of four diamonds, filled with triangular patterns; differently patterned rows of chevrons extend from either side of central column. Column of concentric diamonds along left side of bodice; all patterns are done in red, white, and black. Two black fabric shoulder straps are stitched along top edge; bottom section of bodice consists of three plain pieces of black fabric. Upper section of bodice secures at the back with snap fasteners, leaving bottom section open and drapey.

Wall Hanging3598/2

Rectangular wall hanging woven with wool, and dyed. The pattern is repeating overlapped triangles in olive green and dark pink-red down the centre. There is a band of red within the olive green, and a band of olive green within the red. Flanking the centre design are wide off-white zigzags. On the right side is a small band of dark brown-grey and small band of light grey within the off-white section. The sides follow the zigzag design on the inside edge, in dark red and grey mottled wool. One end has a series of small open loops of off-white wool with a small section of pink, and the opposite end has long fringe in off-white wool with a small section of pink. Blue 'Salish Weaving' tag sewn to back. The colours have faded on the front of the textile.

Wall Hanging3598/1

Rectangular wall hanging woven with wool, and dyed. The pattern is divided into two sections, each with seven columns of three diamonds. The columns have a mirrored colour pattern, from outside to centre - olive green, dark brown, light brown and off-white at centre. Above each section is a light brown zigzag from one side to the other, the lower zigzag is also outlined in dark brown, with off-white and green zigzags above and below it. The brown zigzag has a white line through it, and the green zigzag has a light brown line through it. Below the upper section is a thick horizontal band of off-white and light grey. Below the bottom section is a dotted line of grey (blue on reverse) and faded pink (dark red-pink on reverse), with horizontal repeating green triangles below. One end has a series of large open loops of off-white wool. Blue 'Salish Weaving' tag sewn to back. The colours have faded on the front of the textile.
