Model Totem Pole2603/6

Carved and painted model totem pole with mask, frog and eagle figures. All figures have unusually large wide eyes. The base is a longitudinally cut piece of bone. The back of the pole is flat and uncarved.

Carved female figure, sitting and holding a fish. Her shirt is engraved with patterned strips of triangular designs around the cuffs, and extending across her shoulders and down her back. She has long hair drawn back into a round bun. The bottom of the figure has a hollow, cone-shaped opening in which the inscription is carved.

Child's Chest2603/1 a-j

Child's wooden chest with eight drawers of varying size. The front of the drawers are decorated with different objects and figures including a bird, cat, horn, toy horse, parasol, fish, rabbit, bell, and lantern, each done in ivory, abalone, wood or other material. Each drawer has a small handle that folds in to lie flat against the surface. The chest is raised on four 1.2 cm legs and has a 2 cm handle on top made of darker wood. Note: part j (foot) is in bottom left-hand drawer.
