Fertility Figure921/2

Fertility figure (akuaba) with a disc-shaped head which has a high oval forehead, curved upraised brows, semi-oval eyes, a long vertical nose, and a thin horizontal mouth at the bottom of the face. Rings are carved around the neck. The horizontal tapered arms are outstretched to the sides with small angle-pointed breasts in the middle. The lower half of the body is cylindrical and ends with a belly button and a smal round base. Triangular geometric design at back of head.

A long metal piece with a bird on three long hollow conical pieces opening upward at the top with a ring below. Three-quarters of the way down, there is a small horseshoe-like object around the long metal piece just above four medium hollow conical pieces opening downward. Nearer to the bottom are four small hollow conical pieces opening downward.

Rectangular coiled cedar root basket (a) with lid (b). Basket has trapezoid shaped profile when viewed from the ends. Constructed with parallel wood slats, overcast rim and handles. Handles are formed by creating a loop in the rim at each of the ends. Red cherry bark beading on handles and rim. Chevron shaped designs decorate the surface of the basket in canary grass bordered with black or red cherry bark.
