Jar2990/86

Conch shell form, blackware jar, open at the top. The jar is pointed at each side, like a conical shell, and there are rounded protuberances spiraling around the shell form. There are three chips around the lip of the rim.

Bowl2990/60

Polished blackware bowl with straight, angled in sides and a rounded base. There are eighteen vertical incised lines on the exterior sides, which are 2.8 cm high. The bowl has been broken and repaired, and there is a tiny piece missing at one point where the sides meet the base, as well as numerous chips along the joins and overall spalling.

Fragment: Dipper2990/57 a-b

Partially repaired fragment of a greyware dipper bowl, with incised and painted decoration. Several base and rim sherds have been glued together to reconstruct part of the bowl (part a), and a few smaller sherds for a section of the rim (part b). Parts a and b fit together. The incised decoration around the rim depicts a panel with a feline mask (without fangs) and a panel of stepped diagonals to the left. There are traces of red and yellow paint, as well as traces of white residue on the decorative panels.

Single Spout Bottle2990/32

Terracotta bottle with tall, central single spout and slip decoration. The spout is dark orange and brown with a polished surface. There are two small loops on opposite sides at the base of the spout. The body is ovoid with a flat base, and painted with an elaborate mythical being with serpent arms and legs in cream and brown slip.

Urn2990/90

Terracotta urn with round base and cream and black slip decoration. There is a small strap handle on the rim, 2.4 cm down from the lip. The bottom portion and base are dark brown and the body is off-white with brown vertical lines with wavy lines in between.

Figure2990/89

Hollow terracotta female figure with black and red-brown slip decoration. The figure is seated, with her legs crossed at the base. Her arms are across her chest and she holds a small child behind her right arm. Her hair and a necklace are indicated in black, as are some of the child's features. There are orange remnants of paint on her cheeks and face. There is a small hole perforating the base and one below each ear at the shoulders.

Trumpet Horn2990/88

Terracotta trumpet-shaped horn with polychrome slip decoration. One side is a narrow cylinder that opens up to a larger cylinder which gradually tapers and then flares out with a wide, flat ring around the opening. The narrow section of the body is orange, and the wider section is painted with wide dark red bands, cream-coloured lines, cream and orange diagonals and triangular patterns. The instrument has been broken and repaired, with areas of in-fill. Approximately half of the ring at the flared end is missing.

Single Spout Bottle2990/87

Small terracotta bottle with a human face modeled in relief on the neck, a strap handle, and polychrome slip decoration. The rim above the face flares out slightly, and the body is an ovoid shape. The majority of the face is painted dark red, as is the shoulder of the jar, where there is a double panel of painted dots and "S" shapes on the front. The strap handle at the back of the jar has a chevron panel of painted decoration.

Jar2990/85

Terracotta oval-bodied jar with orange and cream slip decoration and a human head in relief on the neck of the slightly flared spout. The ears on the head form the top of a lug on either side of the neck. There are three animals in pressed relief in a row on each side of the body. Above and between the row of animals on each side there is an orange painted pattern of diamond and square shapes. There is a small area of repair on the base, as well as on the front of the body along a crack near the third animal figure.

Stirrup Spout Bottle2990/84

Stirrup spout effigy blackware bottle in the form of a seated human figure. The figure is holding an object in each hand below the chin and is wearing a headdress that consists of a head band with a monkey head at the centre front with a semi-circular vertical ornament. The stirrup spout is attached at the back of the figure's head and lower back, and a single vertical cylindrical spout extends up from the top of the stirrup's curve. The figure's garment has bands of circular depressions, possibly excised for inlays that are no longer attached. The headdress ornament and spout are missing and have been reconstructed with what looks like a plaster compound. The spout has been painted black to match the bottle, and the ornament has been left unpainted, a beige colour with a light brown centre and a band of smaller light brown circles around the edge of the ornament. There is a small piece missing from below the figure's right hand.
