Loom3447/1 a-e

Loom with a partially completed weaving tied to four bars (part a). Weaving attached to bars at the top and bottom with one bar, intertwined in the weaving, towards the bottom, and another attached to the back, towards the bottom. There are three removable swords (parts b-d) and one removable shuttle (part e) stored in the weaving, at the bottom. The attached bars are all made of bamboo. The shuttle (part e) and one of the swords (part c) are made of light yellow-brown wood, the other two swords (parts b and d) are dark brown. The shuttle has notched ends and is wrapped entirely in orange thread. The weaving on part a is orange and has rows of repeated designs across the entire surface. Row designs include: loose chevron pattern, tight chevron pattern, dotted squares, dotted lines, "X" design across length with squares in the negative space, and abstract "V" design across length with squares in the negative space. Designs done in indigo, red, yellow, black, green, dark blue, white and electric blue. Rest of weaving is incomplete and orange in colour, with loose strands of black and yellow throughout. Three metal rings attached to the top and bottom loom bars- one on the top, to the right of the weaving, and two on the bottom, on either side of the weaving.

Cloth1425/1

Cloth, relatively square, woven from varying light brown and grey-brown. The grey-brown and light brown sections are divided and bordered by bands of multicoloured stripes. The corners are each finished with a red and pink tassel.

Small wooden paddle, with a painted bird head design. Tip of letter opener is painted red with red cross-hatching at the other end; handle and reverse side are unpainted. Artist signature and date on the back.

Blouse1314/2

Brown blouse with embroidery. The blouse has a rectangular shape with a square neck and no sleeves. Around the neck is a border with a floral motif in red, yellow and purple, edged with black velvet. The front and back are divided into three vertical panels by pleats sewn with green stitching. The upper centre panel has a large embroidered square with floral and leaf motifs in many colours on maroon ground. The upper side panels have smaller squares with floral and leaf motifs on maroon ground. The bottom edge is unfinished and uneven. The inside is unlined.

Blouse1314/1

Blue blouse with brocade embroidery. The blouse has a square shape with a v-neck and no sleeves. Across the front and back is a large, dense embroidered panel. The panel has bird and floral motifs in red, yellow, pink, purple and green on blue ground. Above the panel is a multicoloured zigzag border and red band. Below the panel is a multicoloured zigzag border and red checks on blue ground. The inside is unlined.
