DaggerK4.295 a-b

Dagger (part a) and wooden sheath (part b). The dagger has a long metal blade that has been inserted into a wooden handle decorated with a burnt design of rows of dots alternating with solid bands that run the length of the handle. There is a metal ferrule at the top of the handle. The sheath mimics the form of the blade with a semicircular finial at the point, and a semi-cylindrical protrusion on one side. The sheath is decorated with burnt solid bands on both sides, and the semicircular finial has been burnt to a dark brown finish.

RingK4.62

Cylindrical ring carved from wood that sits on one flattened side, and the edges are serrated with three segments of the edge burnt to a dark brown finish. Around the centre of the ring are two raised, diagonally ridged bands that are accented with two bands of dark brown burnt wood and these bands are crossed by two lines of dark brown at the top of the ring.
