Mask carved from a single piece of wood. Bulging forehead, prominent nose, and sunken cheeks. Cowrie shells and seedpods outline the face, and are arranged in decorative patterns. The face is covered by pounded copper sheeting with repoussé designs. Continuous lines of black beads extend horizontally across the face, around the eyes, down the bridge of the nose, and around the mouth. A large black beaded trident form on the forehead. The cheekbones and nostrils are heavily beaded in small black and white beads. Goat skin, goat hair, and raffia cloth embellish the top of the head. A woven strip hangs from the chin. The base of the mask is outlined by two rows of cowrie shells, with strings of large reddish-brown seedpods and feathers hanging down.
Female face mask. The face is carved of wood, and painted with sections of triangle designs or slanted lines. Black and white beading extends from the brow line down the ridge of the nose to the chin, with a single cowrie shell between the eyebrows. The lips are outlined in a string of beads in sections of blue and black. Attached to the mask is woven fibre, decorated with strings of cowrie shells and knotted plant fibre. A small raised form, wrapped in woven material, sits on the top of the head, with strings of various coloured beads hanging down from the form, and a cowrie shell at each end.
Bwami mask made of wood. The mask has a long and narrow face that comes to a point at the chin. Although faded, the left side of the face appears to have once been coloured red, and the right side white. The forehead protrudes at the centre, and then continues down into a long, narrow nose. Small rectangles are carved out for eyes and a mouth, and two small holes for nostrils. The ears and eyes are very close-set. A beard of plant fibre is attached to six holes through the jaw line. The fibre is partially plaited, creating a solid band with long strands extending down. A single thin string is attached to the mask behind each ear.
Animal figure made of wood, with a long, flat, and slightly concave back. The head has carved eyes and ears, and an open mouth; the tail is bushy and turned down. The sides of the body are decorated with carved geometric patterns. A length of twisted plant fibre is tied around the neck and tail, with a small hourglass-shaped piece of wood wrapped in the middle.
