Standing male ancestor figure, carved out of wood. The large head is pointed in back, topped with a flat, decorated hat, and sits on a long neck carved with a regular pattern of rectangles. The figure’s arms are bent and the hands attach to the body at the hips. Four fingers are carved into the right hand. A narrow chest tops a protruding stomach at front, while buttocks are carved prominently at rear. The legs are short and stocky. The right foot is a rounded block with the carved toes; the left foot is half the size of the right, due to missing portions. The figure wears a carved belt.

Carved wooden fetish figure. The standing figure has large eyes and a mouth with teeth carved into the face. It wears a tall, decorated, wedge-shaped hat. Most of the protruding nose and ears have been removed, with bored nostril and ear holes remaining. The figure’s arms are bent, with forearms and hands resting on the chest, and each hand has three carved fingers. The torso is rounded and protruding at both front and back, and a hole has been bored at the stomach’s centre. The buttocks are angularly carved. Legs are thick and bent in a squatting position, and end in large feet with carved toes. A sash of woven plant fibre is wound several times around the figure’s waist, with another surrounding the front of the chest and inserted through holes in the wood between the upper arms and torso. It is knotted together at back.

Vertical wooden mask with stylized human face. The face has a prominent forehead, wide eyes, a sharp angular nose, and a predominant mouth. The lower portion of the mask is carved in an asymmetrical shape. The back of the mask is slightly convex.

It has several aspects typical of a carved Yaka figure, such as an upturned nose, large prominent ears, hands clasped under chin, and legs bent into a squatting posture. The figure also has a pointed forehead, large eyes, protruding lips, and deeply bored ear holes. The scalp area narrows to a wedge shape at the outside edge and is carved with lines. Shoulders are narrow in the front, but prominent in the rear, and arms are bent with hands that have three carved fingers each. The stomach protrudes in front and buttocks are sharply angled at back. Legs are thick, with pointed knees, and feet are large and rounded. A woven sash of plant fibre surrounds the figure’s waist twice and is knotted in the front. Another sash surrounds the chest and is inserted through the wood of the upper arms.

Stone carving of two separate figures that join into a common being below the chest. The left figure is slightly larger, with an elongated head and relatively well defined features carved into the face. Two arms start at the rear of the figure below the neck and wrap around both sides to the front. The smaller figure to the right also has a slightly elongated head. Much of the face has been obliterated, with the mouth and right eye remaining, as well as two ears that are carved into the sides of the head. This figure also has arms beginning at the back below the head and wrapping around to the front on both sides. The figures sit on a thick oval base carved out of the same piece of stone.

Bateba figure with bent legs. The face has a pronounced brow, carved eyes, and protruding nose, mouth and ears. A narrow strip of wood hair runs down the centre of the head from forehead to back of head, with a triangular protrusion at nape of neck. The figure’s back is straight, while the stomach protrudes to the front and has a knob as a navel. The arms hang at the sides, with all five fingers carved in each hand, whereas the legs are bent at the waist and knees, and end in roughly carved feet.

Kanaga mask. Wooden ceremonial mask that takes the form of a large head attached to a body made of crossed wooden slats. The body forms a double cross. The long, two-toned face has holes cut through the wood for eyes and ears. There is a conical protrusion at the forehead, which sits atop a blade-shaped nose, leading into a prow-shaped jaw with no mouth. Two points hang down on either side of the jaw. Several small holes are bored into the edges of the face. The neck is made of three small columns of wood and is attached to the body by adhesive and thin skin straps with remnants of white fur. The body is made of several slats of wood, one vertically placed, crossed by two horizontal with small vertical slats at both ends, marked to represent digits. The slats are tied to each other by skin and/or fibre straps. The body is also two-toned in colour.
