The item search helps you look through the thousands of items on the RRN and find exactly what you’re after. We’ve split the search into two parts, Results, and Search Filters. You’re in the results section right now. You can still perform “Quick searches” from the menu bar, but if you’re new to the RRN, click the Search tab above and use the exploratory search.

Baketry card describes three parts, but only one part labeled as #607. Braided cordage approximately 10cm in length with a knot at one end.
Item does not seem to match the information on Basketry Card. There are notably no handles present, nor any obvious bottom pieces. Perhaps handles have been seperated and are unnumbered in another drawer. Item appears to be cedar bark and limb twined basket fragment with rim. Basketry Card:
Tall pole with carved and painted figures. Figures from top to bottom are: the harpooner, with a whale's dorsal fin in each hand; the second-ranked man in the whaling crew, who holds a harpoon; the shaman, who wears a frontlet and holds a rattle and a wand (and on his tongue is painted the head of a lightning serpent); Puk-ubs (whaler returned from drowing); and a grey whale, held up by Puk-ubs. The eyes and teeth on the shaman's face are in bronze. (The tip of the harpoon was replaced in 2024.)
Human skull inside a knotted fibre bag. Skull without the lower jaw; 4 teeth left in the upper jaw. Inside a knotted net bag made of a stiff plant fibre, with several loop handles.
Drum consisting of hide stretched over a circular wooden frame. Eight wire spokes radiate to the centre, which is wrapped with cloth to create a handle. Traces of red and white paint on the face of the drum. The hide is badly torn in several places.
Sitting figure with lines on high forehead, and design around top of head representing octopus tentacles. Figure holds a halibut, with its tail in her mouth. Red ochre pigment overall, but most noticeably on forehead, ears, mouth and nostrils.
Wolf headdress with bared teeth, and carved snout. Curvilinear design around back upper edge. Carved with great detail but the surface is now rough and weathered. Traces of red and black paint.
