This tooth was found while cataloging material from 45-SJ-280 in October 1997. Although teeth and other naturally shed items are excluded from NAGPRA, this tooth is identified as a "human remain" due to the location of other burials within the site. An attempt was made to match this tooth to existing crania and mandibles from 45-SJ-280, but no match was found. SWD 11/7/97 Based on the fact that the bag these artifacts were found in was unlabeled, this catalog number was assigned by the Burke Museum. This number was assigned before the collection changed accession numbers. Therefore, a previous accession number of 1993-47 is referenced. M. Noble 4/05/2004 Contents of LB5 and LB6 of this unit were reviewed by and S. Jolivette on 11/10/04 and no other human remains were found.
