Dark and light brown coloured human figure with round head, smooth dark-brown coloured hair, round protruding ears, oval eyes, wide nose, and slightly opened mouth. Figure has a dark-brown coloured neck and is wearing a tunic-like garment carved into the wood that is decorated with engraved lines and a central horizontally-positioned diamond-shape. Arms are at the figures' side, legs are thick, and feet are oval with carved grooves indicating toes.

Buffalo Headdress1491/5

Buffalo, or bush cow, headdress (or mask). The animal has a long narrow face, with tapered horns on its head that curve inward at the ends. The lower part of thehorns is decorated with a white cross-hatching design. The head of the animal has eyes carved in relief and outlined in white paint, small oval-shaped protruding ears, wide oval-shaped nostrils painted white in the centre, and a slightly open mouth with large white painted teeth.

Feather Money2604/1

Red feather money wound in two concentric circles around a bark band. Feathers overlap like shingles, attached to the bark-like fibre which is wound around the band of money. Strands of small shells hang from one of the circles.

Rectangular wooden chest front with black and red painted expansive design. Design is bilaterally symetrical and heavily stylized. Eight sets of holes along left side, with some remnants of rope fibre.

Knife2605/1 a-b

Reindeer herder's knife (part a) and sheath (part b). Elongated 'L' shaped sheath is comprised of two pieces of reindeer antler held together with metal nails, and topped with leather handle and strap. The antler has been elaborately engraved with interlinking circular and triangular shapes, which appear to have been filled in with ink. Knife handle is made of antler and polished wood, with similar etchings as sheath. There is a small inscription on the back of the sheath.

Attic black figure lekythos with a solid circular base and a cylindrical body that widens near the top. Jug has a long, thin neck with a handle and a flared opening at the top. The top opening, handle, and most of the base area are painted black. There are black figures painted on the body, and between the body and neck there are a series of black painted lines and dots.

Black figure, white ground lekythos. Object has a solid, circular base, a cylindrical body, a long, thin neck with an attached handle, and a flared top opening. The base has a black painted band around it, the body is mainly beige with four orange painted bands, and the handle and top are both painted black. On the area connecting the body to the neck there is a series of dark red-brown lines and dots.

The inside of cup is painted black except for the centre that has a black dot with a black circle around it. Top part of cup exterior has two black painted bands with a floral pattern painted between. Lower part of the cup is painted black.

Kavad Shrine2587/2 a-k

A miniature mobile temple with several doors, each painted with various folk deities and text, appearing to tell a story. The last door concludes the narration, opening with a darshan of Ram, Lakshman and Sita, standing in the innermost chamber of the temple. The sides and ends of the shrine are decorated with floral, ray and cross-hatching motifs. There is a small drawer under the doors and a compartment in back for worshippers to deposit coins (see Cultural Context field). A leather strap is attached to the top. There is a shrine (part a), a sliding panel (part b), and doors (parts c-k).
