One 2-Z, plant cordage fragment. A tag found with the artifact states, "Excavated by Fred Giesa". There is not an associated Artifact Record number.
12 pieces of bone unmodified, plus fragments. Comments on label read: "C-14 sample no. 15, written on original excavation bag". Field Catalog Form describes artifact provenience as: "Unit: 2S1-6; Level bag." T. Gaudio, 4/12/2010
One cordage fragment. The Field Catalog Form lists provenience as: Unit 3S1-3, 2.6". The artifact is described as a "two strand, Z twist cordage" also listed in the Artifact Record as #164. Artifact Record #164 provides the following additional provenience information: 2.2' from 4, 5.1' from 4S1. The artifact was excavated by Mike Griffin on 07/21/1953. T. Gaudio, 4/12/2010.
One pointed stick with collar. Collar has broken off into three pieces. Artifact Record #176. lists provenience as: 4' from 4S2 and 2.8' from 3S2. The artifact was excavated by Eugene Giles on July 23rd 1953. His comments in the Artifact Record are: "Not precisely plotted in". The Field Catalog Form states that the artifact "spindle(?)". The Field Catalog Form indictes the artifact is photographed as: Photo# 95,96. T. Gaudio, 4/12/2010.
Four fragments of cordage; 2 -strand s-twist. Fragments all appear to be the same color and size but are different lengths. Artifacts were found with one label with remarks, "3 Z cordage reeds with holes and constriction". Field Catalog Form also describes the artifacts as:" 3 Z cordage reeds with holes and constriction." Artifact Record # 187 describes the object as "Cordage (3 pieces) and piece of reed with holes and constrictions" and lists the provenience as: "Instr. D 5m, 1.8' from stk 4S2, 4.9' from 4S1. Unit: C-3S2." Artifacts were excavated by Eugene Giles on July 24, 1953. His remarks in the Artifact Record are: "Reeds found a few inches sough of cordage location, given above". T.
