Two pieces of 2-strand z-twisted cordage fragment. Field Catalog Form lists the provenience as Unit 3N1, Level 3. Based on data compiled from Block Cards, this object was most likely excavated either by Fred Giesa or Harvey Harmon between 7/2/1953 and 7/7/1953. (Pan Yi, 01/28/2010)
Fragment of S-twist cordage. The artifact's original tag is labeled: "45-KI-8/147" in black in and "/5S1+1, Box 4 (b2)" is written in pencil on the opposite side. Cordage was previously twisted together, but is now two strands. The Field Catalog Form lists its provenience as: Unit 5S1, Level +1, Description: "2-S cordage," and associations as "AR-147". Artifact Record #147 reads: "Description: Cordage, 2 strand, Sq or Pit #: 5S1, Depth: 3" above datum, Loc. 3.8' ft. from Stk. 5 and 1.6' ft. from Stk. 6, By: Harmon, Date: 7/20, Remarks: Assoc. w/ small fire area; bones, flakes, reed and grass matting, and ash (black, and dark grey."
