One petrified wood scraper with previous label 45-KI-8 10. It is brown and striated; flaked on the darker side of the scraper. Field Catalog Form indicates the provenience as: Unit 4N1, Feature 1, Level 2, Comments: "Fire pit." Note: This object might be #2 in Artifact Record Notebook 1, based on the block card for Unit 4N1-1; however the provenience does not match exactly. A. Thickpenny and A.Hart, 11/4/2009
Scraper with light brown and dark brown coloration. The scraper is labeled "45-KI-8-B/412." The Field Catalog Form lists "Associations: in 409 bag" and bag label comments say "in 409 bag."
Petrified wood end scraper with white, gray, and dark brown banding. 3S3-4 written in black ink on side. 251/45-KI-8 is written 1 cm below this. Field Catalog Form indicates the provenience as: "Unit 3S3, Level 4, 42" (d)", Description: "end scraper of petrified wood." Block card reads: "Features: grass layer slanting steeply from north side and east side toward center of pit. Artifacts: Eight pieces of cordage #85, 86, 88, 95, 97, 98, 106, 101; one piece of basketry #107; and one scraper #105." Cordage and basketry not located. (S. Chappel and Pan Yi, 1/21/2010)

One piece of cordage, possibly twisted, appears to have been wet at some point. Fibers are blended together. Made of plant fiber. Find #264 on the Field Catalog Form indicates the provenience as: Unit 3N1, Level 1, Vertical 6" Comments: "Knotted 2-S cord" Note: This object might be Field#29 or Field#130, based on the block card for Unit 3N1-1, Field Catalog Form and Field Book #1. A single strand of twisted cordage. Original tag labeled "45 KI-8/86" (in black ink) and "/2S3-3 AR 54 box 2.1" (in pencil). Light brown. Find #86 on the Field Catalog Form indicates the provenience as: Unit 2S3, Level 3, Comments: "Frag single-strand cordage." Field #54 in field notebook #1reads: "Cordage-Single strand. Sq. or Pit #: 2S3-3, Surf D: 36", Loc.: 37" N of 3S2, 2" N of 3S2, on 3S2-3S3 line, Rathbun, 7/1/53." (S. Chappel, 2/02/10)
One fragment of basketry. There are five dark twisted cords, 3 cm long, interwoven lighter strands about 1.25 cm long. Lighter strands are broken up in the middle of the piece. Previous tag in separate bag written in black ink "45-KI-8/287" and in pencil "B box 3.6 B-4 1/2" (1) /FN-161". Find #287 on the Field Catalog Form lists the provenience as: Unit B-Block B, Level 1, 4"(d), Comments: "AF-161." Find # 161 on Field notebook #1 lists "B Block B, 4" below datum, 61" of NE, 22" of NW,Geisa, 7/20/53". (Pan, Yi, 02/16/2010)

Two braided fibers. Braid is made from fibers with the consistency of straw. Braid is tightened at one end and looser at the other end. Fibers are brittle and broken especially towards the looser end. Unattached fibers have been bagged. Old label reading "45 KI 8 199/3S2-3 AR-94" was removed and bagged along with a box label reading "45KT20 (KI8) 4E20 Box 4.0." Artifact Record Notebook 1 #94 matches description reading "Cordage 3 strand braid, 3S2-3, 35". Cordage was found at 35". C. Phillips, 10/21/2009
