Carved wooden staff decorated with two figures. Lower figure is the angularly carved face of an old man with a full moustache and long beard, which curls three times around the stick. Amongst the beard curls are carved a mouse and a fly. The upper figure is a standing naked man holding a staff in front. Some carved sections are darkened for contrast. The entire stick is heavily shellacked.

BowlA8061

Light brown wood dish in the form of a flounder and inlaid with turquoise beads. The pupil of the eyes are beads surrounded by a carved circle in tapering oval. The open mouth shows eight bead teeth. The tail has two beads in a vertical line along the top. There are back fins, one at either side of the tail. There are twenty-one beads around the rim. Sixteen beads form a cross within the bowl.

Weaving tool3621/5

Wood and metal tool, consisting of a spinning frame mounted on a cylindrical wooden handle. The frame has two long side pieces with two horizontal bars inserted into notches in the side pieces. The horizontal bars are held in place with nails. A large nail is inserted through the centre of the cross-bars, and hammered into the handle, which allows it to rotate.

Wooden spindle and whorl consisting of a disc with a central hole (part a) and long wooden spindle (part b). The whorl is convex on one side, and flat on the other. The spindle shaft narrows at each end, and one end is wider than the other.

Wooden beater for weaving. Beater has long, flat blade with a rounded end. The carved handle has a cylindrical hand guard and pommel-like end piece. The blade is dull on both sides.
