Textile3332/27

Small pocket-shaped, square-like textile with three rounded corners. Edged with a plaited deep purple and white loop stitch in silk. Front embroidered with three designs in silver, which are surrounded by multicoloured needlepoint(?). Yellow-gold coloured embroidery all over. Backed with red fabric.

Pouch3332/14

Small fabric pouch composed of one piece of fabric folded on itself, then sewn on the bottom and a side, leaving an opening at the top. Central design is a large diamond, flanked by concentric triangles to create a square-shape. Within, heavily embroidered geometrical and floral designs and five small inset circular glass. Five off-white shell buttons along open edge. A single row of shells with knotted thread in orange, burgundy, and light blue-green between the shells across the bag on both sides. Four tassels with light blue beads, one red, green, taupe, and eggplant, one on each bottom corner, and one at end of each shell row. Each tassel wrapped with metallic thread. Small circular mirrors inset into dark purple circular embroidery around bottom and side edges.

Gun Holder3332/13

Two pieces of fabric, sewn together on two sides with short edge open. The textile has a wide end, which is open, and tapers in to a narrow end. One side is straight, the other curved. Heavily embroidered with beaded work along the edges. Gold fibre applique around edges and following shape within textile. Green glass button with mirror on small dark red pompom at top centre, with short beaded strap extending up from.

Composed of a square piece of fabric, with three corners folded in on itself, and then sewn together creating an envelope-shaped case. Four black, burgundy and orange roundels with circular metal buttons on two. Heavily decorated with small circular mirrors on both sides. Front has five large orange star designs and organic designs. Heavily embroidered in multicoloured geometric and organic designs. Burgundy tie extending up from point.

Two matching long narrow pieces of fabric. Rectangular in shape except one end coming to a point. Edged by black thread which is divided into sections by wrapped metal thread in gold, copper or silver colours. The textile is heavily embroidered, with repeating geometric designs in grey, white, dark purple, orange, red, white and green around the edges and larger floral designs down the centre, each encased in green vine-like designs.

Skirt Fragment3332/4

Fragment of a skirt composed of the front and back of the hem. The two pieces are still attached along one side seam. Both section backed by three layers of fabric, with the outermost being a different pattern for each side - red with various sized circles, and a red and white gingham with dot pattern . Bottom edge is heavily beaded with rows of repeating white and blue or light blue and red with geometric patterns in white, orange, green, red and dark blue with a light blue beaded background. Above, a row of silver metallic thread applique.

Fabric bag composed of a piece of burgundy fabric, folded and then sewn together along two edges, leaving an opening at the top. The front is embroidered in white, black and yellow repeating geometric designs and small square patterns. There is a single clasp at centre of opening. The interior is lined with a purple floral fabric. There is a long, thin twisted burgundy strap extending from the top edge. The bottom edge is finished with a bright purple.

Quilted Textile3332/43

Square quilted textile. Central design is an X-shape created with five diamonds. This is bordered by small squares, every other square is white with a diamond. This is bordered by opposing strips of floral fabric, and opposing strips of burgundy across the shorter edges. Finished with black edging, and a small black loop in one corner. Reverse is unfinished - not backed.
