A square red lacquer tray with angled sides and a border rim edge. Interior of tray has landscape scene with two human figures and symbolic crest designs. Border rim edge has key borders. Exterior of tray has spiral and floral designs on each side. Seal on bottom reads, Made in Hsuan-te reign (1426-1435) of Ming Dynasty. (Part b is a wooden stand, in storage.)

Pair of identical small white bowls with short feet and flaring sides. Both bowls have a thin red and gold band around the foot, a gold line around the rim, and the image of a flowering tree and peonies in polychrome enamels on the outside--two upper branches of the tree wrap over the top and into the inside of the bowls.

Hook in form of two dragons, small carving of a t'ao-t'ieh on the bottom. A large dragon's head is at one end. A smaller dragon with a body, four legs, and a tail are carved along the top front side. There is a knob near the middle on the bottom.

Snuff BottleN1.251 a-c

Ivory snuff bottle (part a) carved in the form of an official's head; wooden stand (part c) is carved in the form of his shoulders. The head is carved with a moustache, goatee, large hat, and braided hair in the back. A part of the hat is removable, acting as a bottle stopper and a spoon.

A rectangular seal block with a large lion and two cubs to its left on top. There is a ball inside the large lion's mouth. Inscribed with a quotation from the artist on the sides. Brown with light streaks. Seal is in intaglio with the characters carved into the bottom.
