Panel carved from one piece of wood depicting a figure with a tiered headdress holding a slingshot-like object and sitting with one leg up on the back of a bird figure. Behind the figures are scrolling vegetal and floral elements. Below the figures is a band of abstract design featuring a repetitive pattern of curvilinear lines. The side edges of the panel are bevelled and there are two tenons at the top as well as another tenon at the centre bottom.

Model Hunting CanoeA1528

Wooden model canoe. The stern of the canoe ends in a triangle shape painted red. The bow of the canoe curves upwards and extends to form a figurehead. The figurehead on both sides of the canoe has an eye outlined in black, surrounded in red dots and outlined again in blue with green eyelashes. The nose is striped with a green line, a black line and a blue line. A red zigzag line extends down from the figurehead. One side of the canoe is decorated with a black whale, a bird highlighted with red, blue and green and a black stylized animal. The other side of the canoe has only the black whale. The interior of the canoe is unpainted.

Irregularly-shaped, stone-like piece of ochre (part a). Flat, ovular stone with a circular hole bored near one edge; stained red and black (part b). Short, cylindrical double-pointed paint stick (part c). Rolled hide sheet (part d) with one pointed end enclosing thin strips of cedar bark; cloth thong tied to tip of pointed end. Elongated, yellow-white antler toggle with a short cloth thong tied through a circular hole bored through one end (part e).

Humanistic wooden mask. The mask is unpainted with carved features. Around the outside edge of the mask there is a carved slant. The eyelids are large, the round eyes are small and the nose is flat. The mouth is an oval within an oval. Extending from the mouth are three plumes on either side. West coast modification of Kwakwaka'wakw "Nuxlmuxl".
