Model PaddleA1544

Small wooden paddle painted in yellow, white, black, and red. The front side of the blade has a creature in the mouth of another. The main creature has a black oval in white tapering oval eye surrounded by a dark green area, a black nose, an open red mouth showing ten white teeth, a black and green u form behind the head with smaller red, yellow, and green ones behind, four black feather-like features, and two-feathered yellow tail with red and black u forms at the base. The creature in the main creature's mouth has a black circle in white tapering oval eye surrounded by a green area with a yellow face, a green nose, and an open red-lined mouth showing multiple white teeth. A red diamond shape is at the tip of the blade. The back has two diagonal red bands, one across at either end of the blade with 'Port Simpson .B.C.' written in black in between. The handle has a horizontal cylindrical finial.

Fragment: CopperA1738 a-b

Two fragments (parts a-b) from a larger copper. The first piece (part a) is relatively rectangular with an orange/bronze-coloured zig zag band across the middle. The second piece (part b) is relatively rectangular with angular sides and is undecorated while also curving inward along one side.

Bag made from deer hide decorated with a floral design at the top front cut out of the deer hide revealing orange cotton that had been inset underneath. The front flap is embroidered with a floral pattern in pink, purple, yellow, and green. Two pockets on the inside. The bag is rounded along the bottom edge.

A wood bird figure. Has a small distinct forehead, eyes, nostrils, and a long red beak line. The wings are slightly curved, creating a inverted U-shape in cross section with the tail. The black body is painted with turquoise to accentuate the feather outlines. Bottom has hole piercing through.

A model totem pole depicting an animal with wing-like features below holding an upside down human as well as a frog and face, and a bird with a human and a frog in front of it (from bottom to top). The animal at the bottom has circular black eyes surrounded by a tapering black oval and a red area with black brows above, nostrils, black u form ears, an open black lined red mouth showing fourteen plain teeth, black limbs, and three-feathered red and black u form side wings that have a black eye and beak form and a red split u along the upper part. The upside down human has circular black eyes surrounded by a red circle with black brows above, a triangular nose with black nostrils, a red mouth, and a black dashed body. The frog is facing downward with circular black eyes surrounded by a red area with a black dashed nose with black nostrils and a green body. The face has circular black eyes surrounded by a red area with black brows above, a black dashed nose with black nostrils, a black lined red mouth, and four horizontal black lines across each cheek. The bird at the top has circular black eyes surrounded by a plain tapering oval and a red area with black brows above and a green forehead, a red lined black beak, black u form and vertically lined ears. A black dotted neck, and four-feathered black u form side wings that has a red and black eye form along the upper part. The human in front has similar facial features to the one below it but has a green body and is standing with his hands in front. The frog below in front has similar features but with a plain nose. A standing black bear is at either side of this frog. Nails attach it to a square base.

WhistleA4299

Red-brown double reed whistle that is square in cross section and tapers to a rectangular shape and bound at the wider end with brown string. While the wider end is solid and has a human face carved on it, there are two hollows through the smaller end where there is a taper cut elongated semi-oval hole nearby at either side. Seams were sealed with pitch but have split.

Half of a longitudinal, bottle-shaped, brown wood piece that is circular in cross section with a tapering neck. Has a killer whale design. Has a black ovoid in ovoid eye surrounded by a white and green area, an open red mouth with six white teeth, a blue or black body, green, blue, red, and black fins and dorsal fin, and a tail that has a face with black ovoid in ovoid eyes, red nostrils, and open red mouth with six white teeth and red split u's for ears.

Divided tray, or box. Square as viewed from above, with sides that angle outwards towards the top edge and upright walls that divide the box into four sections. Both upright walls have curved edges, but one is much more pronounced and higher than the other. Distributive design in black and red, overall. The top edges are painted black and the outside edges of the base are painted red.
