Wooden D-adze; blade has been made from a file. Leading end flared to a slightly curved sharp edge. Bound onto wooden handle with rawhide strip. Squared-off wooden handle with bulbous back end carved to resemble snout, head and breast of a bird-like animal.

Short cylindrical basket (a) with a flat, fitted lid (b); lid is held in place by a cedar flange that rings the rim of the basket. Stylized zoomorphic figure repeated around sides and lid in black. Compound bands of black and yellow stripes around sides and lid; black circle in centre of lid. Base: checker work with plain twined or wicker weave. Sides and lid: wrapped twined weave.

Coiled cedar root basket with parallel slat base construction, rawhide thongs, and decorated with partial imbrication. Vertical checkerboard stripes in red/white and black/white reaching half way down the basket, four per side and three per end. Colour: brown.

Burden BasketA1992

Simple coiled work basket with bifurcated stitches. Every fourth row is decorated with horizontal beading in a white coloured grass. Elongated watch-spring base construction. Cross-stitch edging on rim, which is partially beaded. Holes remain where handles were once attached.

Brown birch bark basket with a circular top and a square bottom. Bark is bent and laced into place, with birch twine around the rim overcast with thin strips of root; two decorative bands of crabapple beading are featured along the rim, alternating with two open cross-stitched segments.

Basketry HatA1465

Basketry hat with primarily plain twined weave with some diagonal twined sections on the brim. Above the crown of the hat are a series of four cylindrical protrusions of plain twined weave around the sides of each, and twined and wicker weave on the underside of each with a hole in the topmost protrusion. Two bands of black on the brim and on the cylindrical protrusion below the topmost protrusion.
